Creepy! How did they ever find our numbers?

I called the damn number back and got a message that 6303184762 is a number that has not been assinged yet. Doesn't make sense. There is a way around everthing. They asked for the person that had a $4000 balance on a MC or Visa card. Wouldn't they know if they were bill collectors? Then he wanted to set me up with a credit card. Stupid trick.

A woman called me (Language:  American English) today (Sep-3-2010), and mentioned my first name.  She told me that she was calling me regarding a university degree.  She made me some questions:  What is your birthdate?, When you graduated from high school?  I did not answer the question regarding birthdate.  I asked her the name of the company, but the communication was not clear.  She asked me the name of my university and what degree I was interested.  She asked me also, If I was interested to make a transfer from one university to another.  When I asked her about the doctorate degrees, she did not asnwer me the information.

I am worry, because when I called back this number an answer machine said:  "This number has not been assigned yet."

received call from this Card Member Services about a offer to reduce the rate on my credit card.  i asked which one and the dillweed literally read every type of credit card off a list I suspect he had.  i don't even have 90% of the cards he mentioned.   Asked him to remove me from future solicitations and was cussed out.   beware of this place - scam all over the place.    i filed a compliant with the do not call registry.

Received a call from this number today, saying I was using birth control, I said "No", then he said "you are, long time ago"!! I informed him "Never in my entire life"

I hang up the phone and put it on my phone blocked list. Well, too many missed calls from this number so I want to see what they want. My phone number is on the DO NOT CALL list, but I do received junk calls

Just a thought: The website (https://www.donotcall.gov/) to added your number is really work? or they collect those phone numbers to harassing  you?

Caller with East Indian Accent, talked to my wife. He said he was "Jerry from Windows." He didn't mention Microsoft. He said that "the server is down and our computer would crash in a few hours." My wife said he'd need to wait and talk with me when I came home, and he told her she had to get on the computer now, that he was sure "your husband wouldn't want his computer to crash."

He gave a callback number of 347-796-4494.

Recently, we were visited here at home by a large woman, I'd say about 5'8", 5'9", probably tipping the scale at about 175, long blond hair that had been permed so that it appeared that she had an old wind sock draped over head, dressed head-to-tow in black, and trying to barge into our front door.  I am considerably smaller than this two-ton-tessie but I wouldn't let her in.  She was holding a folder, generic looking with pages of what appeared to MSWord processed letters inside, many of them.  The stack in the folder was open to one in particular but it was tilted so that I could only make out the sender's address info.  She was rude, nasty, and I was equally stoic and sarcastic.  She was looking for someone that I'd never heard of and she kept re-asking the 'where is..." question in a bald attempt to get info from me.  I think she was attempting an 'info by second hand sources" thing.  I didn't play.  Eventually, tiring of my repeated answer "I don't know you, I don't know who you are looking for, you are not entering my home.", she said "I guess I'll have to leave."  My reply to this godzilla was "yes, I guess you'll have to."

We used to receive lots of 'hang ups' and otherwise strange calls.  A couple of years ago, after several years of ignoring those calls that weren't disclosing in a logical manner on CID, they trickled down to about nothing.  Since this recent invasion by that dumpy amazon, we've received several hangups from 630-318-4762.  I believe that it might this:

    http://www.collection-calls.net/6303184762.html

I think that this might be a boiler room operation where several types of calls are made, telemarketing and collections alike.  Without the benefit of any messages or anything through the USPS, I can't be sure, but I'd be willing to bet that this is Arrow Financial and that the dawg's wife that showed up on my doorstep worked for them.

If they show up at your door, whether they are looking for you or not, don't answer the door as I did.  In retrospect, I should've followed my instinct.  There was a large person that I did not know, banging on the door and shouting "I know someone is in there!"  (The neighbors were all out on their porches wondering what the devil was going on.)  I had every right to call the police and believe me, the next time it happens, this is exactly what I'll do.

And, although the person that 'it' was looking for was not at this address, I am filing complaints with our local AG and the FTC.

    I don't play.

Got many calls from them. Never answered. Today my husband answered and an automated message:
    - Thank you for make your payment on your card on time. Now you can apply for a reduced rate."
We don't have credit cards (Thanks to God!). We have store cards, but we know their #'s. Our phone is in the "No call list". It doesn't work, at all.

Call and said they were calling from my service provider and had not done my Windows 8 update from
my personal computer.  We have multiple computers running windows 8.  He could not identify which one it was just kept repeating the same thing "from your personal computer".  He never even asked my name he had no idea of who I was.

Seemed to be a scam call to gain access to my computer remotely.

This was a good one... the guy said he was calling about my computer. Said that it was sending error reports and they were calling to help me fix those. Funny part is, that there is no computer where he was calling. It's the home of an elderly person I caregive for. So he goes on to say, he wants to show me those errors... and for me to hold the ctrl key and press windows key too. So I say OMG, what did you just do??? He says I knew this wasn't going to work today, and then hangs up! Strange stuff!
