I have repeatedly told these people that I am not interested. The calls stopped for about 2 months, guess they are starting up again.

I got a call on my cell phone saying they were Sony electronics. It was clearly a weird voice so I assumed it was a prank call because it was coming from my area and the number looked a little familiar. I hung up after they started talking but now I'll be sure to block them

    DirectBuy of Naperville.
Offering me a choice of 5 high-ticket "prizes" for something I supposedly filled out. After 5 mins of wasted minutes, was told in order to be claimed need to come to a "conference" for a few hours before getting a scratch0off to see if I "won" desired prize. Typical scam.

I got the same call from this # I received that one and the guy Ricky told me that I have won one of five fabulous prizes and to collect my prize I need to visit their 'OPEN HOUSE PROGRAM' first I was afraid that what it would be a scam or a prank???  but when I visited them I spent my 90 minutes there and that was really a nice program and I got an 80" LED t.v . I am extremely happy and feeling very sorry for you guys that you missed this opportunity , Better Luck next time !
    Thanks Ricky !

Called me and said my phone number was picked from a contest entry form. I don't fill out contest entry forms, so obviously a scam. They hung up when I started messing with them. They also called my sister 20 minutes earlier.

Called and said my number was selected off a sweepstakes form I completed at Walmart. I live in a town of 3000 with no Wal-Mart in a 40 mile radius. And I don't do sweepstakes. I hung up on them.

This is nothing illegal they are just running a promotion to promote their names and their services just to spread among the people.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.
