made the mistake of answering a call yesterday that hung up,now today this is the 4th or 5th call i received that has just hung up.
caller id said IL COUNC POL
i report numbers to the ftc complaint site since i am on the do not call list.
i think they use the do not call list as a way to get good numbers
will have to start answering the phone as

Sounds like a scam organization for donations where most of the donation goes to the people who are making the calls.   They say nothing & leave no message.  Makes them sound REAL Reputable, NOT!

Says Elmhurst Il on my caller ID

They called on a Sunday at dinner time and when I answered the call they immediatly went into a long
spiel about needing support to educate children against sexual predators. I told them I was not financally
able to support them and poiletly asked them to remove me from their calling list.  I was told that was not
possible as he did not know how to do that, I asked to talk to someone who could and he hung up on me.

Never give donations to a stranger who calls you. Might be a scammer. Might be a legit independent fund raiser who keeps 99% for themselves and sends 1% to the charity. Best to donate directly to the charity so they will get 100% of your donation.

Caller ID only showed Elmhurst IL. They hung up when the answering machine picked up. IL COUNC POL (maybe Illinois Council of Police?-fake fundraising???)

TOTAL SCAM. Called me at 10AM on a SUNDAY. They 'work' out of an industrial park in Elmhurst, IL  (I know this because I live 2 miles from the place, and I would go over there and HARASS them, but, naturally, it's a secured building). Don't answer. Con't bother telling them not to call. They roll the source number by a digit or two every couple months--they must have hundreds. Wish they could be shut down.

Call and hang up, call and hang up, call and hang up. The next time they call I just may be inclined to yell "bomb"  into the phone and maybe then someone at the NSA will put an end to these azzwipes, since they monitor for that type of word or maybe the FTC can pull the plug on them but I doubt it.

If this is some kind of fund raiser, they can just forget about it now. They called so late the other night and woke me up from a deep sleep that there's no chance in hell they'll be getting a dime. The least they could have done was leave a message. Jerks.

This is so deceptive. These are telemarketers calling to fund raise for the AFL-CIO Labor organization so they can use the money for legal battles yet why are they (cops) paying union dues (you guys should ask yourself what your union is doing with your money after-all.) Maybe if they'd stop taking your due's money and putting it towards political campaigns you wouldn't need to call us taxpayers for donations when we already foot the bill for your salaries! This union also lobbied to have "charity, non-profit" organizations exempt from the do not call list. Congrats, money well spent and I will NEVER donate to you.

The caller asked for a $10.00 donation to fund instructing children about sexual predators. Eventually, he gave me an 800 number to call. I told him that I don't do donations over the phone. He said to check their Website (icop.org) and that their phone number is on it. Also, he said that he would call me back in a few months. The 630 phone number on Caller ID did not match the contact numbers on the Website (an Islamic charity in the Portland, Oregon, area).

dikheads were not nice enough to say anything when i picked up. I guess they are begging so many people for money they cant even come to the phone.
