I got the call today 7:19 pm. Caller ID states Elmhurst, IL 630-749-1660.
I was not home, however they did not leave a message on my voicemail either.

My number is unlisted.

Caller stated he was calling for youth crime prevention, and that he was going to send out a packet with all the information

called at 9:00 pm.  Picked up and heard a recording "Thank you.  Please hold on for an agent."  I hung up

I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer. After Reading Scams comment. They called on sunday evening. And After getting phonecalls all day from people asking me to donate money I was a little annoyed. I explained I do not make donations over the phene. The gentleman kept argueing with me. I had to hang up. Its scammers like them who make donting what I can. Hard.

Precisely the same thing with me.  Barely even got into the answering machine announcement before the [***] hung up.

Same here in Hoffman Estates. 1-630-749-1660. I have tried to call it back but no one answers. They picked up and hung up on me once. Called at 7:32 pm.

Same here. Phone ringing, answering machine picks up, no message. This number appears in my caller ID several times.

My wife picked up the phone; caller asked for "Andy." She asked who he was; in a crabby voice he said he was "Brad," and asked for me again. She said I wasn't here, and hung up.

I guess I'd be crabby, too, if I was stuck indoors on a gorgeous Saturday, having to make stupid telemarketing calls.

Called at 7:50 pm and asked my wife "Am I speaking to Mrs. X?"  She said, "Yes" and they hung up.  It's disturbing.  I want to know who they are.

If any of these numbers call, don't bother picking up. It's more trouble than it's worth. Even if you tell them to take you off their call list, they will just continue calling you again on another number. I have filed a complain on them through the FTC because these calls have gotten out of control. They claim to be the Dupage County Sheriff's Department collecting money for needy children, battered women, or homeless shelters, or the Dupage County Health Department collecting money for various research. Both the Sheriff's Department and the Health Department are in no way associated with the company calling you. This company is most likely a scam, so do not donate to them.

Just got a call from 630 749 1660 Asking for money for Illinois disabled and retired firefighters and for the family and children of deceased ones, I think he said.  I asked for a contact number, he did not have one handy and he said there is no website.  He said his name was Oz Pinto.

I have been getting calls from a couple of those numbers since June or July. I don't pick up anymore, but the couple of times I did, they asked for money for disabled war veterans. I am all for helping out people in need, especially people who served our country, but something was sending off warning bells when these people called, so I told them I wasn't interested. My dad is a Vietnam veteran, and he called the Veterans of Foreign Wars to see if this place is for real. The VFW has been receiving many calls (and complaints) about this company and is advising people not to give them anything over the phone. Guess I will try the FTC thing too and see if that stops the calls. Has anyone had any sucess in getting them to stop calling?

These jerks have been bothering me since June of 2007. When the calls started, they were calling using pre-paid cell phones, and it would come up on my caller ID saying Cellular Call. They would always ask for me by first name, and they are always trying to collect money for various charities and research. I have told them countless times I am not interested and to stop calling me, and have filed several complaints with the FTC, but they just continue calling on different numbers. It seems like as soon as the FTC does something about one number, they are already calling me on 3 other numbers. I have yet to successfully get them to stop calling, but I have noticed that every number I have reported to the FTC isn't calling anymore.
