- Canada Caller| 1 replyReceived a call from Illinois 63--752-9984 again, from "Windows Operating Services" saying there were viruses on my computer. He hung up when asked how he got my name and phone number. This is the 6th time for this scam - so I guess I have a virus that none of my AV programs is finding. Time for a Mac!
- Caller: Windows Operating Services

Called the number back and an operator said "Sorry, the number you've dialed has been disconnected or no longer in service. If you feel this is an error please call your operator for assistant." - MelyssiaGGot a call today from the number 630-752-9984 and it was my husband who answered the phone. he was told to log into a site and at the time he was dealing with our children and told the person on the phone, the guy didn't get the hint. so he tried getting him to log in to the 123 scam site. it asked for a down load, at which time i am removing it.

- Kim Krueger| 1 replyClaims I have a problem with computer
- Caller: unknown
- Kim Krueger replies to Kim KruegerShould of added
when I told him I did not have a computer
& asked him for his name & number that I was reporting him
to the police he hung up - Panda9:23 am - called and we said hello 4 times when a heavily accented man (might have been Paskitani) said he was phoning from a computer company to help us with our computer. Hubby told him we don't have a Computer - he quickly replied 'GET ONE THEN' and hung up. Am so getting frustrated with these phonies. The scam is always the same but they call from so many different area codes and numbers. Have started a list for our MP's...... and the police.
- paybacksabeeatchCalled me last Sunday, told them No Way, and straight up I wouldn't turn on my computer (If nthey knew so much, they would have known 2 were on and hooked into the 'net as was x-box).
Called Monday & talked to my wife. Good girl told em hubby takes care of all computer stuff and to call back after 7.
got call tonite from "Russel" (same voice and name as previous guy). He ran through his speel, then I told him I worked in I.T., and yes I did have a "windows computer", several in fact, along with 2 MacBooks and my own server; and seeing as I had set up my own network and constantly monitor it and had never heard of his compny, what was the exacct "error message" my server had sent?
Long pause followed by "Well, you work in I.T., I shouldn"t have to explain. What do you want me to say?"So I told him : Just the truth, you're trying to scam people, aren't you? Don't call me again"
He hung up.
25 minutes later, same jack*** called back using same name and script. I reminder him of our last conversation and sais if he didn't take me off his list, HE would be facing a denial of service attack as I was in the process of spider-spooling info on his company's numbers and IP addresses (all bullcrap).
He apologised and hung up.
One more call and I will though!

- replier replies to Canada CallerThis is a SCAM - the caller doesn't even know if you own a computer - you don't have a virus. They guy calls a number - tells you that you have a virus. You get scared and go to the website he sends you to. It downloads software into your computer that allows him to roam around inside your PC and get your banking credentials, email lists, etc. Guess what? If you get a MAC they will call you and say the same thing. Question - how would some company know that your PC has a virus? How did they get your phone number? IT IS A SCAM!

Reverse Lookup has series of complaints claiming that your PC has a virus. Really? You knew all that and you don't even know who or what I am or have?
Another points to Raymond H Littmann, 372 Evergreen Cir, Glendale Heights, IL 60139.
We should robo-call this guy morning, noon, and night, and give him a taste of his own medicine.
One way to flummox these annoyances is to get back at them, by calling them, put the phone down, but DO NOT HANG UP.
They make hang up on you, but until you hang-up, they cannot call outbound. In other words, you locked up their outbound phone line—if it’s a landline and you’re calling from a landline. Does not work from cell phones! Most telcos sense off-hook, and other than a timeout that some telcos don’t have, you’ve essentially emasculated and frustrated the idiot at the other end. We need to fight fire with fire!- Caller: Raymond H Littmann Windows SCAM
