Illinois call, hangs up

Third time # on Caller ID. Previously, no one on line, and no answer when called back. Same again, and no message/voicemail.

Illinois call.  Asked for me.  Was to damn mad to remember what they said because it was 8:45pm on Labor Day! I told them not to call me again and slammed down the phone.  I called back at midnight and it's busy, busy, busy.  I reported them to the do not call list.

I rec'd a call from this number, asking me to donate to an organization that grants the wishes of dying children. While I am sympathetic to the plight of anyone dying, I do not like to get these calls.  I prefer to make my charitable donations privately and without nagging phone calls. When I told the caller I was a freelance writer and was on deadline, he persisted and said he'd only take five seconds of my time. Yeah, sure.  Five seconds.  I hung up before I could test his five second promise.

They are a company called TAI.  They are a telemarketing firm hired to solicit donations for needy children, veterans, & police organizations among others.  I have asked them to take me off their list & they do not understand.  I have received calls from them on Sundays, after 9 p.m., whenever.  Some of them are nasty - if they get through to you just tell them to remove your name & hang up.  Of course they just keep calling.

B.S.  Their office closes at 9.  Mabye a minute or two after.

How do you know their office closes at 9pm, Frank? Do you work for them? Are you one of the annoying people calling us even after we tell you to remove us from your call list?

We are in IL too....We have received 3 calls from this number in the last 3 days.  They don't leave a message.  My husband received one of these three calls last night and asked they not call again.  Low and behold, we got another hang up on our answering machine from this call at 6pm this Sunday.

If any of these numbers call, don't bother picking up. It's more trouble than it's worth. Even if you tell them to take you off their call list, they will just continue calling you again on another number. I have filed a complain on them through the FTC because these calls have gotten out of control. They claim to be the Dupage County Sheriff's Department collecting money for needy children, battered women, or homeless shelters, or the Dupage County Health Department collecting money for various research. Both the Sheriff's Department and the Health Department are in no way associated with the company calling you. This company is most likely a scam, so do not donate to them.

I got a call from this number on a Sunday night asking for me.  When asked who was calling they hung up.

Someone from this number called me today asking for donation to Vietnam Veterans. When I refused this guy started talking in a bad manner to me asking whether "I didnt want to help" or whether "I could not help" as if I owed him something. I hung up.

I dont mind helping. But there should be some courtesy...

a male voice called already 4 x in the last week, and asked for my wife...by her name!
Asked him to live a message and/or  who is calling?
He always said "I'll kust call her some other time"

These boneheads called at 8 in the morning on a Saturday. If I find out who they are, they are going to be the ones who need to make a wish!
