A lady from American Income called me about a job offer. When I told her I couldn't come in for an interview because I would be back at school 3 hours away, she said "FINE" and hung up.

Wow...pretty scary! I just got a voicemail to schedule an interview...makes me weary on calling back. I found this position on Yahoo HotJobs.

American Income Life has appointment setters that arrange for an agent to visit you to give you a free accidental life policy, used to have a face value at around $1000 which for the most part is worthless. How many people die in an accident and will collect this $1000?  Once in the door, then they try to set you up with all kinds of insurance. If you work for them you put in long hours, your appointments are set all over the area making you late (how do you get from a 4pm appt. in Skokie to a 5pm appt. in Bolingbrook?), and you work on 100% commission to meet a quota. The policies are legit, their personalities leave something to be desired.

xyv, I just recieved the same phone call and voice mail. Funny thing is, Im a social worker. Im not some person looking for another sales job or even interested in insurance sales.

I received a call from that same number today. The voice mail was from a Theresa at extension 289. Her message said that she was calling me in reference to a position within their Benefit Representative Division that was opening. It just didnt seem real, so I googled the number and found this posting and many others giving Ameircan Income thumbs down!  Thanks everyone, I will not waste my time calling them back!

I got the same message.  The owner was a jerk especially when i asked if i could work a second job and he rudely said "NO"

Received a text on 07/05/10 from said number,with the words:"PLEASE CALL".It appeared to be an emergency,so I ended up going through my phone book to see if it was anyone I knew.Being that I have alot of friends and family with that area code.So I Googled the number to see who it was.My next email is to them telling them I did not appreciate the way they preesented their text.

Got an EMAIL from a Person at this phone number.....To call and Set up an Interview..  I did not apply for a job.

Got a call from them too.  They got my resume from somewhere.  I have it posted in several places as I just recently lost my job.  I am a legal secretary.  Anyway, I live near downtown Chicago.  They told me they have positions in Chicago -  but all interviews are conducted in Woodridge.  Told them I could not get there - they said "ok" and hung up.  When I talked to them on the phone they made me believe this was a job for an administrative assistant or secretary.  Sure don't want to sell insurance door to door and drive all over burning gas for commissions only.

Recently lost my job as Administrative Assistant and have been sending out resume's.  I received an e-mail today instructing me to call Roxanne at 630-910-8800 ext 157 relative to "the Benefit Representative position we have open."  I found it suspicious when the e-mail stated that, "We have been unable to reach you to set up an interview."  I carry my phone with me 24/7.  So I came on line to research the company and phone number and I found this post.  As if we all don't have enough on our minds trying to find employment so we can take care of our children and families to then have to deal with nonsense like this on top of it!  I believe they got my resume from Craig's list.

i got the same email from asking me to set up an appointment with Roxxane... What kind of people they are don't they have any real work to do?

They called me today for a job I didn't respond to call but googled the number and this what I found so I will not call them but to yell them bug off

I got a call from this number, 6309108800, and let them leave a message.  It was 'Rachel' in the HR dept. trying to set up an interview with me.  I did not apply to this job either!  WOW, how do these people think they can keep scamming others??  We are not stupid and know where we applied to and where we did not.  Thanks for all of your comments, I will NOT be calling them back either.

I just received a call and voicemail from this number. This lady named Rachel said she was calling from the human resources department at American Income. She wanted me to set up a time for an interview. Ummm, excuse me, it would be nice to know the following... A. How you came across me and my resume because that would be a little professional. B. Describe what kind of position it is before we continue wasting both our times. C. Explain the company a little and where it's located. I swear you post your resume somewhere and you instantly get flooded with people like this wasting your time with voicemails or emails who just want to fill some sales position because they can't proper train someone from that position and keep them with their company long enough to last. I apply for positions I want, not for scams like this!

Thanks guys for all opinions, I got a call from this number while on my trip abroad, it was diverted to my very expensive roaming mobile, it is great that I know i dont have to bother to call back!

I recieved a call from Shannon at ext 289 to bring me in for an interview as they saw my resume on Careerbuilder. I do not have my resume public on there whereas it's private so I avoid calls like this happening, identity theft and so on.

I Google'd the phone # and came across many posts about jobs they are offering at American Income in Woodridge. I don't believe I applied for a job there as that's too far from my house.

I'm going to alert Careerbuilder to this call today as they need to know about scam job calls especially to their online community who keeps all their info private.

Got a call from them today, before I would get emails when I had had my resume on Monster.com, but I'm not looking to be a sales person for an insurance company. I will not be calling them back, even though I am currently seeking a new job. The number that called was 630-910-8800, and the woman's name was Theresa from their HR department.

I got the same v/m from this exact # and like everyone else, I decided to google it & get more info. about the company when this info. came up alerting me...thx everyone for the headsup!

Got a phone call today for an interview....fortunately I wasn't at home to take the call and googled the number because I didn't recognize the company. Don't know where they found my resume, but never applied for any job with them.
