The voice mail was from a lady. She said her name was Gwen, and she was a customer service rep with the US Postal Service. In addition to getting voice mail messages on my phone, the voice mail was also sent to my Outlook email account as an audio clip, which in this case indicated that the call originated from Aurora, IL. I will see if I receive any more phone calls from this number.

    Suzanne -

What else did this supposed " customer service rep" say?
We really cannot tell you if this was a scam or not, unless we know what the person said.
For instance, did they want money or info about your ID?

She seemed quite surprised to hear me say I already have a USPS sales rep.  I spend only about $45,000 a year with USPS.  She asked if I was happy with my service.  I replied, "Not until it's taken over by FedEx."

I have no clue who they are but I'm betting they are not with USPS but some kind of business scam.

Received a call. Woman identified herself as calling from US Post Office. It sounded like she was whispering or had the phone covered but what little I could hear she was asking who I advertise with. I told her that I didn't & hung up. I spoke with post master in my town & he said that if the caller id showed US Post Office that is who it was.

YEP, he left 2 messages on a business line.  His messages said he is calling from USPS about a new service and wants to share it with me because I am a good customer.  He is sorry he missed me and will call me back.  I did call the number on caller ID (curious) and the phone rang for 9 times before I hung up.  I am not a good customer of the post office because I mail an average of 4 thank you letters per month.

Well this is very odd my call was not like yours at all, they called my office from this number and asked if I handle the mail I said yes (it said "US Postal Service" on the Caller ID)...asked if I was happy with their service and I said I had a couple issues..he was very kind and helpful by giving me information I didn't know regarding the local post office and their policies, he let me know if I have the same problems in the future to call my local office and if they don't help he gave me an 877 number for the business help line.  He's supposed to send me an e-mail with an offer for cheaper postage but after reading these reviews I think I'm going to pass on opening that e-mail!
