Scammers, operate by offering some kind of "claim" or threat of "pre-legal" action against someone you know.  Never answer and never call back, unless you are a detective looking for them to reveal themselves.

i know why i'm getting these calls.

basically it means you have an unpaid bill of some sort and the people contacting you are trying to collect.

for me...about a year ago i woke up feeling like i had a spike going through my chest. completely freaked me out. hoping it would pass i went into work untill midway through my day i couldn't stand it anymore. told my boss and off i went to st. vincents emergency room in nyc...you know the one that just got closed down due to mis management.

i waited a half an hour before i got to see a doctor. without even examining me the doctor told me i have shingles, gave me a prescription for oxycoton (the same stuff a dentist will give you after a root canal) and a 650 bill...coupled with the fact i lost a weeks pay because i was in so much pain where in the hell do i come up with the 12 or 13 hundred dollars i need to cover my getting sick. i'm not the type to blow off bills or payments...i pay my rent, utilities and legitimate expenses on time without fail...but this...i just don't care.the doctor didn't even spend five minutes with me. this hospital closed down because those few higher ups were stealing money...which is why an emergency room visit will run you upwards of 4,5 and 6 hundred dollars.

i don't care...[***] them.

These people called about some scam about collecting a debt....they couldn't tell me who the debt was even with!!!    I have great credit so don't be fooled!!!! They aparently bought some extremely OLD debts from years ago and are calling people trying to get people convinced to call them--!  It is a scam to try and get money out of people.

this number has called me several times and it is a recorded message that states my name and they have recently acquired a delinquent debt but they give you no other details, I won't call them back and am going to block their number from calling me.

These are the same people who say to call Sara levy and whoever else. I get this call every month. They change the name when they call. These scammers need to be stopped.

A company calling from (631) 247-9920 and identifying itself with a robot-type voice as C r e d i t S m a r t left a voicemail in which they asked me to call (877) 230-1901 to resolve a debt that was supposedly harming my credit. Sounds like they're a junk debt buyer trying to collect well past the SoL. The (877) number is listed on this site and there have been multiple roboresponses to posters who have reported the company as unethical - they've even responded to their own roboresponses!

Report them to the authorities in your state and to federal authorities.

CreditSmart, recently purchased my debt, blah blah blah. No (new) blemishes on my report, so not worried, but if they keep calling I'll report 'em.

the woman would not give me their address to mail them a letter demanding they stop calling my cellphone. i said, dont you know where you work? she said, thats not who owns us. i said, they can send the mail on. she hung up. so i called back, got the switchboard, found out they are credit smart llc, 273 walt whitman rd #310, huntington sta ny 11746, and sent my letter. i am pretty sure this is a 9 year old divorce-based debt that has been purchased for the zillionth time....

Great postings. Having fun with them as we speak. They have purchased a debt that I paid over 10 years ago. Figure if they are wasting time with me they are not bothering some poor schmuck that doesn't know any better.

Said he received my number as I was listed on my wife's account. Warned that she had county civil case pending and I needed to get her to call or else. He could not share details as his position in the worked in the office (I believe he did call from NY listed number, right) did not allow him to elaborate. He could only contact me but I could get all the details if I called. Interesting indeed.

Same old scam saying Sarah Levy again. Is there a way to stop these moneyscammers?

They left a message stating they were looking for me about a claim # 228835.  I called back at the number on my caller ID, not the number they left and it was the same woman who left me the message - she used one name on my voicemail and another name when I talked to her on the number she called me from.  She then said she was looking for Patricia and did I know how to contact her.  I said no and they left me information to have her call Sarah Levy or John Stevenson.  Total scam.

It seems these greedy callers Levy and such need to be stopped. I hope somebody out can catch these scammers.

this company continues to call my phone number 706-882-6074.   i am demanding that they stop now.

These people have been calling my cell phone, and even my mother's work place?  Denied my request for written information, went to my accountant to discover that I do not even have their debt claim on my credit file.... SCAM. Thanks for the address, will be sending the letter out today!

These people have been calling my family and myself about a past debt.  They are even calling my ex-husband!!! WE HAVE BEEN DIVORCED FOR 17 YEARS!  They have called my two sisters and brothers and my mother's house.  Thank God she is in an assisted living and doesn't receive the calls.  My Dad passed away on March 30th this year and the prognosis for my mom is not good, but you never know.  THEY PEOPLE ARE HARRASSING ME AND MY FAMILY - which has a in arguments (which we do not need).  THE STRESS WILL KILL ME AND WHEN IT DOES, MY SON WILL FIND OUT WHAT THEY WANT.  THEY WILL NOT TELL ME!  

I AM HERE TO TELL EVERYONE THEY FIND OUT YOUR FAMILIES NAMES, PHONE NUMBERS AND WORK NUMBERS ON FACEBOOK.  DO NOT POST THAT!!!!  THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND THEY WILL DRIVE ME TO MY GRAVE.  

Right now I am so upset.

I just want these people to leave me alone!

Have received several calls from this number talking about pre-legal action on an old account of mine. which mind you is only 254 dollars. PRE LEGAL ?? FOR 254 dollars?? PLEASE. when they called they would not state their name or the companies name and also would not disclose to me how they got my phone number, the caller also stated she would mail me something in writing, that has not happened as of today and I talked to this company probably 3 weeks ago or more.  So help do I need to pursue this further or leave the "company" alone??
