Received a text message. Someone I know has been in a car wreck, injured please call this number. Haha can't imagine who it could be. I think if it was that bad they would of called. But must be a scam. No way am I calling this number.

I got the same text followed by a call. Did not answer it and won't be responding. Everyone I could help in an emergency is fine and those living away from me would have had a family member contact me. Sorry scammers.

This person txtd a message that I will copy and paste here if possible. "A car accident hapen with some one you know please call back at this number its urgent"

They told my mother they kidnapped me
Told her the color of vehicle I drove my name and that I had given them her phone number.
They told my mother if she didnt wire 1500 to them
They'd kill me.
Mind you I was at work the whole time
Please let everyone know about this

Also just received the same text message about a family memeber being in an accident and needing help. I responded to the text asking who, they responded by calling. I answered the phone and they hung up. Tried calling back and getting voicemail. It's a scam.

Received the same thing. Texted back who and where. Then they called and told me, my brother got into an accident. Told him I don't have any brothers. Then he asked about my sister and her name. He ended up telling me "shut your finger in your ass" when I didn't tell him. But he did know the town where I live. Apparently they are well known. I wonder why they still can operate.

just got the same car accident txt this morning followed by a call. in the txt the person left the name "jonathan" but in the call he said his name was "alex". i asked him to describe exactly what happened, describe the victim, and suggested him to call 911 instead. Glad I found this message board. Now I can stop asking around my friends with similar description if they got into a car accident. Again the number is 631-353-5085. Don't fall for this scam.

Got a text this morning: "Sorry this is alex im calling you cause my brother youst got in a accident and the guy that impact his car gave me this number to contact his family to see if somebody can come to help him please call back".

I texted back hello? abotu an hour later. they called. told me they had my brother. guessed (correctly) that his car was white. told me they had him at gunpoint, that they were fugitives from the law (which is why they wouldnt be involving the police with the accident). said if i hung up the phone they would murder my brother. what was the difference. he was already wanted for murder. ultimately my phone died and i was able to assess this was a scam.
