I just got a call on my cell phone from a solicitor trying to sell me home improvements. I asked him how he got my phone #, since I'm unlisted & I'm on the "Do Not Call List". I guess someone's privacy means nothing anymore.

Also when I asked him how he got my unlisted phone # & that I'm on the "Do Not Call List" he said he didn't know & that he got it from his boss.

I'm on a do not call list yet this guy calls anyway. As soon as I begin to explain that he hangs up.

Received a call from 631-509-6335 on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 6pm. Renovation business doing work in area. I asked the woman how she got my number as I'm on the do not call list. She said she received all numbers in the area. What a joke. Disgusting that these scammers have no conscience

It's unfortunate but true that these people calling may be average people working for a paycheck being handed call sheets that they too would expect to have been scrubbed against the DNC List.
Sure, the caller could have inquired with his boss abt this since it would prob be a common question as to where they obtained ppls numbers. But it's prob a testament to a low paying job that the individual is not going to jump thru hoops for and/or is not sure whether even asking abt something like whether the call list was scrubbed may have a negative impact on his status with the company & may potentially fear losing their job.

They annoy me just as much as you. But a small fraction of them are def being scammed by their employer too, but are generally from US-based operations. A common vertical at the moment is alternative energy, mainly solar. A lot of cold calls from a lot of people thinking they're working for an honest & reputable company that they assume would provide them a call sheet without phone numbers on the DNC List.

NOTES - Didn't answer. Researched the number, ended up here. With generally consistent stories of a possible home improvement scam, phone number was added to block list. Number they called is currently on DNC List.

What does "A common vertical" mean?

Received a phone call from this company yesterday from a polite gentleman explaining they were doing an extension a few doors down from my house on gibbs pond rd. Turns out they were and the house is beautiful!!!!! After some more research i find they are A rated from BBB and have been in Business for 20 years. I sold vacuums door to door when iw as a child and appreciate a good cold call or sale. If some people took the time to listen and said they were not interested like i did im sure they would politely remove your name from the list like they did so kindly did for me.

I received a call from this number 631-509-6335 and the woman that called would not answer any questions and put her rude punk manager on that sounds like the guy that zyppah commercials the guy would not tell me the name of the company and when i told him i am on the do not call list he just very rudely hung up on me , does anyone no the name of this company (if it is a real company ) so i can make sure i never use them ever !
