Same as Harry, called my cell at 5 pm;, no msg and I don't answer unknown calls.  
631 is an unassigned area code in North America.

Area code is form Suffolk County, New York according to Google.  We regularly receive calls from this number and of course, we do not answer from unknown calls. However, this time, on the caller ID was  MAX Security.  They left no message.

Tried to schedule a solar panel eval/consult for my home. I declined.

Calls every day, leaves no message

called 6 times in a row and did not leave a message.

On the caller ID was MAX Security, I answered to air!, then hung up!

Call comes in as Max Security, and then the guy starts trying to sell some solar energy crap.  Foreign accent.  Totally freaked out for him and he hung up on me.  On the DO NOT CALL list, so not sure how they got my PRIVATE phone number and called my home.  So much for the do not call list.  This is the SECOND call from a telemarketer today.

All they have to do is plumb numbers into a computer or robo dialing machine. Put the blame where it really lay's, with the criminals and illegal telemarketers.
The DNC works just fine. It is for telemarketers only and honest business does indeed abide by it. It is the criminals (which includes illegal telemarketers), frauds and scammers that do not. However, the Fed. DNC does not cover some survey's, Political or Charities.  You would need to check your states DNC laws to see if these are under your states DNC laws.  The fact remains that they are not automatic call blockers though and can not protect you from the calls that are criminal, illegal or fraudulent.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone..  You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.

"Max Security" at this number.   Repeated calls.  Annoying.  So, I answered the phone (clicked on the receiver, made no noise at this end), held it for five seconds then hung up.  Let them pay for the long distance call.  I'm doing this more and  more, to annoy them when they get their phone bill.

Person claimed to be Joan from Roof Diagnostics. When I asked a few question: Address, name of company and said I will report to the FTC, she hung up

Called late this afternoon and left no message on  the answering machine. I do not recognize the number and doubt that it's a legitimate business. I assume it was a scam call.

Received a call from 631-527-6532, says East Hampton, NY, they hung up as soon as I answered the phone, I will just block the number.

We receive 3 or 4 calls weekly from this number which is identified as 'Unknown' on caller ID.    When I first began answering it, no party was on the other end.   For the last 4 months, the calls came in between 10 AM and 5 PM, and we ignore them.  Now they come in as late as 9 PM, and are quick becoming a severe  annoyance and intrusion.  

I have no idea who this, but I highly suspect it's a scammer.

Received a call from 631-527-6532 on 10/25/2014 at 7:28pm. Caller ID displayed" Solar America".

Google Voice already had this number on their spam list so my phone only rang once and the caller was automatically sent to voice mail. No message was left.

I have added this number to my GV block list.

Got call from 1-631-527-6532, it was some dooshtard who could barely speak proper English from a company that came up as Solar America. He kept yammering about free installation of solar panels and equipment and I only had to pay the bills.
Then I told him I live in Rochester NY where it is cloudy and overcast 300 days a year and we get 90 inches of snow that would cover up any solar panels. Then he got mad at me.  

Got a call at 6:50 pm on Halloween.  Really nice.  Swarthy guy with broken English who said he was with a solar company.  They wanted to send out an evaluator to possibly save us much money on our electric bill.  He knew my name so I played along.  Yes - I am the homeowner.  Yes - my supplier is National Grid.  No - I don't have any special discounts on my bill.  And yes - my bill is over $105/month.  Last question was "And your credit score is over 640?"  I said, "No my credit score is 450."  That really stumped him.  He came back with the "Maybe I can call you back in 6 months when you get your score raised."  I said that I answer the phone on every call. (And I love to screw with guys like you)  :-)
