Received several calls from this number. Upon calling back he stated that he was a collection agency trying to collect on an unpaid magazine subscribtion. He stated he could collect a portion of what I owed and prevent my credit report from this ding.  He then said, "how would you like to pay for this? It is only 499.99 to clear this blemish up".  He didn't know my name, my address or anything! He thought I was dumb enough to give him my credit card number over the phone without any of this info! And I don't even have any magazine subscriptions to boot!! Needless to say, this is a major money scam and don't fall for it.

i received the same call and got the same BS answers. im just trying to figure out if they somehow have my info. and really do have it in collections. i dont have a magazines either. i didnt give them anything. this is crazy.

Got the same call today!  I let it go to voicemail and when checked message it was a recording saying thank you for calling customer service and leave a detailed message.

had a call from this number say they were from Your Magazine distributor,

First the girl called me and told me she was a collection agency for magazine,,, blah blah blah. I called bull@@@@ and asked for her info and she hung up.
Two days later a crackhead guy calls me up and gives me the same bull (I say crack head cause he was slow, illiterate and kept sniffing every 2 seconds). I got him on the phone while i'm at the computer, he says his company is NCO and won't give me anything else; after cursing him out and threatening to file a report against him i decide enough and hung up.
20 minutes later, the girl from the first time calls me and I lay right in to her "What is your name!!!", I tell her three calls makes harassment and I can now file a police report. I thank her before telling her to F@@@ Off and hung up.

I do hope they call back so I can take it even further, they wouldn't give me an account number, she even says "sir I don't feel it is necessary to give you my name" lol, idiots. Next time I'll be nice and try and get some more info but I already have what I need to file a report which I plan to do shortly.

I keep receiving phone calls from this number claiming to be a collection agency for a magazine.  I already gave them $400 to "settle a claim" and now they want $499.  I am from Massachusetts and have contacted the MA attorney general Martha Coakley's office about the matter.

I received a call from this number today.  I did not answer it.  There was a recorded message on my answer machine.  It was hard to understand the whole message.  It sounded that the guy said, "Thanks for calling our consumer service...."  

My caller ID had this information:

I believe if it is a real debt collection agency, the caller ID would give the name of the agency.  Also I have never heard of a collection agency having a consumer service telephone number.

Person claiming to be with a collection agency and asking for $ 400 and some.. Claims the debt was growing bigger each day.

I got a call this morning from them.. and the lady obviously eating while talking to me.. told me I could settle my claim with $600... She wouldn't tell me which magazine, or get a number to call and verify.. and when I said hold on, let me check, she hung up on me.  Obviously a scam.. good lord.. then I looked up the number and found all of these reports too!

Keep a whistle near your phone, next time they call, give 'em an earful. :D  What a bunch of scamming losers!

The fellow who called me just a bit ago asked for me by name, and when I said "What's this in reference to?"  he said, "The collections."

The Collections?  Collections of what?  Coins?  Seashells?  Stamps? :D

This number called me two days ago and asked for a Michael. I had this problem a couple years ago asking for the same name. The people that contacted me then were about porn magazines. I've never ordered anything like that. They called me again this morning. Both times they've just hung up in me. They have never even specified who they are they just ask for Michael.

These guys never give up,  what a scam, for magazine subscriptions???? do people really fall for this scam? I wish I knew a way to catch them.

I bought an airhorn and have their number saved on my phone as NCO scam fraud. They still call even after I cursed them out, I stopped answering with "Hello". Now I just give a little squeeze of this puppy as soon as I answer and get a good laugh before telling them to F+ck off! lolololol...

The first call was to my cell phone and was from the Chicago area. She stated her name was "Mimi" and was calling regarding my magazine subscription with American Reader Services and that if I did not pay over the phone, this collection would appear on my credit report. When I asked for my "account number" she stated that she did not have that information. I asked for a website to make payment, she said that payment could only be made over the phone. She offered to clear the delinquent account by reducing the amount I owed to $999.99. *I ask you, what legitimate collection agency does that!! .
The second call came to my landline phone and the caller ID showed (567-429-1519) owens com colle. They stated that my account was past due and I owed $1,600.00 for my magazine subscription account. This person's name was "John" and I told him that I already talked to someone else that day and that this was a fraudulent call and that I had already reported it...(I haven't yet) and while I was talking, he hung up.
I did extensive research on line for the phone number and the company. I did find a website for Amercian Reader Services, but with different contact numbers. Everyone I talked to there stated that they are no longer known by that name and that they have received numerous calls from individuals getting collection calls, just like me.

got a call from a guy who said his name was mark and he was calling from american readers service about my account,when i checked the number it was for nco when i asked for infromation regarding the account they could not give me any until i paid,which could be done over the phone which i wouldnt do without proof they then hung up

did anyone get a address from them. i contacted my states attorney generals office and they said to get there address so they can get this thing mitigated.

Just got a call out of the blue from this company, stating they were a debt collector. First off i dont have and unpaid debt so this chick is crazy, 2nd she was calling me by my nick name therefore I know she doesnt know me. I have checked multiple sites to find out they are scamers and just looking for dummies.

I didnt get to hear all the BS because I cut her short asking her who she was calling someone and not knowing their name. I live in GA and for them to get my cell, must mean they are just pulling names out of a hat and giving it a go.
