Got the call from Abe Delgado Caller ID said: 631-870-4339 but he gave number 888-836-7686 x146 saying he works for Merrill Gardens retirement community and wanted to add us to their list of preferred attorneys. Could hear TONS of other people in the background making the same exact call. I flat out asked him "You don't have a local phone number, I am on Merrill Gardens website now and they have a local number"  He was flustered and said he didn't really work for Merrill Gardens but for a company called "Perks" and they this was a limited opportunity that he could only choose ONE attorney to add to their "Perks Card".... Sorry buddy, if it was "so good" people would be coming to YOU to be added, not the other way around.  Another sales call for the trash bin.  I know we all have to make a living, but his job of trying to sell a worthless product sounds sad and depressing.  Good Luck!  He won't be hearing from me!

    Greetings All;

Well gee, reading above ... ya know I'm thinking this is a bunch of          , (well you fill in the blank.)  So anyways my caller was Christine and she was from/with "Employees from Bethonie Retirement Living" looking for an "Event Planner".  Gave the same return 888 number above however her extension was "255".  Yes I heard the same background noise and so on.

Got a phone call from 631-870-4339 and they left a message saying they were Bethany Retirement Living and he was looking for a DJ service that some of their employees can go to for weddings, bar mitzvahs, sweet sixteens and special occasions.  Gave name as John Gibbons number 888-836-7686 ext. 257.  Not sure why a retirement community would need a sweet sixteen or bar mitzvah DJ.  And also my business is not a DJ service anyway.  Not even close.  Not sure what they are selling but I'm not buying it or returning the call.

It is from the Perks, which is a bordeline scam.
I've signed up with them once, they promised an exclusive listing to state employees.
Not shortly after I signed up I saw that one of my competitors had signed up with them for the same thing. That, right there, is false advertising.
On top of that their "advertisement" produced absolute no results. Fortunately, it wasn't expensive either but save the money for yourself and ignore these guys. I'm blocking their number right now.

Just got a call from a woman named Jennifer Rinaldi. She was claiming to work for DWP. She said all her agent will work elusively with me on all real estate transactions. She was picking one agent in the area to advertize for. She said she had found what she was looking for in me and "no need to look further." Once she sent me the contract to get more info on my background I notice she was asking for  $2,500 deposit. I told her I need to think about it and do some research. She gave me her number (888)836-7686 x229. Did some research and she a phony. Do not answer if this number calls you or if you get an email from the server "perks cards"

Merrill Gardens, LADWP, and Bethany Retirement Community, amongst thousands of other corporations across the US distribute a Perks program for their staff. The program is based upon helping the employees save money on a variety of services. Services that range from restaurants, health & wellness, family fun, retail stores, home services and professionals. Each of the below posters received a call from Perks, the company that designs each of the programs. The programs vary as far as the types of business offering discounts, the method of distribution and the actual product. There are multiple forms of marketing materials that range from newsletters, email updates, website listings, logo placements, and mobile app listings.

To verify that you did receive a call from a viable Perks employee, simply ask to speak with the contact of the organization in question. With who can verify that they are in fact offering the program and the call you received was warranted.

This is a ploy that preys on small businesses saying they'll tell employees of X-Y-Z company, usually its retirement homes, VA hospitals or other places where the staff that OKs this scam is not real savvy about this stuff so they agree to let this ad agency use their name.  If you do pay them they'll print your biz name in a cheapy flyer and send a stack to the VA home or nursing home for the very low wage employees to hopefully come to your bizz.  If these workers want a good deal all they have to do is go to Google on the smartphone or computers (90% people have these devices these days) and find a good deal without us small biz people paying money to some outfit in upstate New York.

By the way "MSK" is desparately trying to convince all us posters here otherwise... really try to find another job.

Our business is a very small acupuncture office and we have received 3 phone calls from the same person from 631-870-4339  in 3 days. She says they are a perks company for state employees and can only choose 1 acupucture office and they want us. I told her 3 times we are NOT interested, and she persisted. On the second phone call she said she would take us off the list, then she called back the next day! Something is fishy!!!

What a bunch of malarky. You are in fact telemarketing advertising sales in "newsletters, email updates, website listings, logo placements, and mobile app listings" but disguised as a cryptic offer to include victims' businesses in a "Perks program". Posters below report "$198 for four months" and "she was asking for  $2,500 deposit".
Folks, it's a sales call wanting to sell you ad space.

Don't bend over for these scammers
They pulled my wife's # off her website, and said that they were with the South Carolina Human Resources Department. We do live in SC, but there is no such thing. Stay away from these morons, just another scam.

I got a call from this number this morning.  I will admit he was a very good talker.  Smooth delivery and not too many pauses.  I have a small PC repair business (which he must have found on google) & work out of my home office/shop.  He even mentioned a couple of other places in the area by name.  Made it seem more believable. Said that he was in a position to choose somebody from my area to work on home computers & laptops of the county employees of where I life.  I would be on an exclusive list with other local business in the area.  I would be the rec amended PC repair guy for the whole county.  Could I handle all of the extra work?  After being on the phone with him for 20 minutes I told him I had to go... Send me the info to look over.  Red flags popped up next when he started to apply pressure for me to agree to a recorded verbal agreement over the phone RIGHT NOW... Told him I was NOT comfortable doing something like that over the phone in a public place.. Send me the info via  email... He said he would send it over right away... and call me back later.  5hrs later still no email.... and then he calls again... I ignore the calls....  I get home and I finally have an email.. Blank subject (red flag), No company name in the body of the email (red flag) & 3 attachments (that i wont open).. And a different call back number (same number as other posts here different extension).

Got a call from Jennifer Renaldi saying they could only contract one counselor for sandhills community college employees, and that I was the one selected.  Was told that I had to pay $1500 and sign a contract for it to be official...sounds very suspicious to me!

Perks is the company. I could tell was a scam from "hello", but let her go on. I was curious. She was obviously reading from a script, telling me she herself had spoken with several SUNY employees, and they would be thrilled to drive to see me for a massage, if only I would sign up to offer discounts to them. I'm 2 hours away! Obviously not legit. She hung up on me when I stopped playing along~

Just got a call from 631-870-4339 - they left a message.  In the message he addressed me by my first name and said his name was Johh Schnepf and was working working for Lockheed Martin and wanted to find a dance studio that their employees and their families could use (I just so happen to own a dance studio). He left his callback number 888-836-7686 ext. 168 and asked that I call him back as soon as I get his message.  Unfortunately for him, better scammers have tried this tactic on me for years and I'm becoming a master dodger.
