    I got a voice mail from this number saying they have great news for me.  I have just been approved for a payday loan which I have NOT applied for.  I hung up blocked this number and deleted it from my phone.

    You'll have to block them - if they're calling your cell phone, there are free apps you can use to do this. If it's your home phone, it may have a "block number" feature - if not, you may want to look at buying a call blocker.  You can get a good one for around $50 now.  Otherwise, ignore the calls.

    PS: If you didn't already know it, your callers are scammers, so they're not going to stop calling you.
