Payday loan company advising I'm per approved for loan.... I did not apply for a loan!

Called and said I have been pre-qualified for a payday loan.  Did not get the name of the company.  Does any body know the name?

No name of company, just the town...near where I live...and the #.  I let the phone ring until the 4th ring when the machine will pick up and then I pick up to see if anyone is there but I hear them hang up.I think telemarketers know this as they always hang up just as the 4th ring begins.  No message of course.

caller stated PBA affiliation and pledge drive. I kindly declined the caller continued and then hanged up the spurious call.


perhaps outsourced but I highly doubt it would be sent to telemarketing firm representing PBA

Just got called and the guy said he was from the Policeman Conference Association.  Told him "there is no such thing and you must be some special kind of lowlife scum to try and scam money out of people by using a made up organization."  Wonder why he hung up?

Based on the posts here, I get the impression this operation is spoofing this number for more than one operation.

they don't leave a message,guessing it is another scammer

I know the last thing I would want is a message from an unwanted caller.

Call at dinner time. Appeared as "Null" on phone. Did not leave message on machine.

Caller ID "Babylon NY" ... AUG 22@5:15pm EDT… I do not answer callers I do not know. No message on answering machine.  800notes indicates a SCAM.

Called at 9 PM! Caller id said Unknown Name so I didn't pick up. They hung up before machine kicked on.

Babylon, NY number supposedly on the caller ID.  Long delay before the caller came on about some Police Conference Association regarding a police fund raiser or something ... wouldn't take no for an answer.  I stayed on for fun and he wanted a $$$ commitment for the package he'd be sending me in the mail. Yah NO - had enough and hung up on him after attempting to end the call nicely.
