Repeated calls, no message ever left.

I didn't answer the call. When I called the number I got a fax-like tone. Caller ID was "J2 Global Commu".

So annoying to have my peace and quiet interrupted. Going to block the number on Verizon but too bad any repeat calls will still ring once.

J2  Global Commu  did not answer,

Just received a phone call and came up J2 Global Commu.  I had no idea who this was, let the answering machine get the call, and didn't leave a message.  On the "Do Not Call List" which doesn't do anything.  Since I get so many of
these type of calls, I block them from Cablevision, 30 phone numbers is not enough, and asked them if they could
increase the number of phone numbers you can block which they are looking into doing.  So annoying!!!

Patti, I, too, could only block 30 calls.  I am also on the "Do Not Call List" which is a total waste.  I purchased a call blocker from Amazon-CPR Callblocker, which can block over 1,000 calls.  Attaches to the phone, and your house is peaceful again.  Check it out at Amazon-not expensive.

If big brother can read a computer memory that is deleted they should be able to back track robo calls and spoof numbers.

Yes...here I am again with yet another illegal # that called me.  Just when is it that our gov't. will make ANY attempt to stop this invasion of our peace & privacy?  Obviously, the illegal scammers do not care about the Do No Call Registery -  no penalty on them.  What a joke on the American citizens!

Where was it ever said that the list meant the end of all junk calls? The scammers care about stealing from and cheating the public ONLY. Fight them by not answering in any way. No answer in any way, they can't play with your number, or sell it. The government would have trouble with dummy numbers.

I did the same as lautrec, and purchased a Sentry 2.0 call blocker since Cablevision only blocks 32 numbers.
J2 Global Commu is an annoying caller from Suffolk County selling burglar alarms,when you do pick up phone, by mistake.

For those who posed the questions: chances are that the called ID info has been "spoofed"; in other words, the caller's name and number are falsified to hide the scammers info.  Most likely J2Global is just another one of the scammers victims.
