yeah they called 2 times today.
Said hello a couple times, heard nothing so I hung up.

Pretty annoying.

Received call Mar 2/08 at 4:58 pm.   I just picked up receiver without saying anything.  within 30 seconds a recording came on to offer lower interest rate on a credit card, and for more information to call 647-477-8358.  Obviously I didn't call that number as it is quite obvious that this is some sort of a scam, since the number given is a cell phone number in the Greater Toronto Area.

Got a call from 641-715-3900. No reply.

this number keeeps calling me and when i try to call them back i find that they are asking me for an extention number, but when i tyr to dial one it tells me that it is invalid! what the hell is going on with these people, they are in Iowa seriously this mission for christ crap is just too much! this has to stop.

First I was getting several calls each day from these a$$holes hiding behind the call display number of 000-012-3456. Now they call and hide behind another fake caller ID number of 641-715-3900. The automated dialer recording claimed to for some debt consolidation service called Ontario Consumer Credit Assistance and left a call back number of 647-477-8358. That number as someone already posted is a Greater Toronto Area cellular phone number.

I masked my caller ID buy dialing *67, then calling them at the 647 area code number. I followed the instructions to remove my name from the database. I guess I'll know soon enough if the calls stop. If not I will also be contacting the BBB, the CRTC and perhaps the federal minister of consumer and corporate affairs. We Canadians need to speak up and have our laws changed to prevent deceptive use of caller ID and telemarketing uses of auto dialers etc. Since our American neighbours have implemented their national do-not-call registry all these vermin are now flooding our phonelines. I can hardly wait until September when our own DNC list is finally implemented. I'm sick of getting an average of 6 of these types of calls a day despite having an unlisted number and subscribing to call privacy service.

This number always call and once you answer, they will just listen to your voice but nobody answer or say nothing. it is very annoying.........i just want to know who are this people doing like this. can you help me find out who are they?

Just received a call and there was only dead air ... then a click. I'm in the Montreal (Canada) 514 area ...

The number resolves to CHARLES CITY, Iowa of all places. Then again, with alot of telemarketers spoofing their phone number, it could be coming from anywhere!

I called the number after no one replied to my salutation -- I tried an extension at random... 2920 led me to a recording of the following phrase, "Dave in Chicago", with no voicemail.  Extension 2921 turned out to be "Dave in Chicago" with a voicemail box, into which I deposited the following remark, "No.  More.  Calls."  To get a sense of the tone, think Dirty Harry saying, "Do you feel lucky, punk?".

I have received a number of calls from this number and no-one is on the other end. Very annoying

i got a message today, all garbled too, saying something about grants for starting small businesses.  

i appreciate chris's optimism above, but if you're pretending to be giving out canadian AND quebec government grants, you're clearly a scam!

everyone knows the canadian and quebec governments wouldn't have one place giving out grants for both of them, that would require effective communication between two levels of government!!!

come on, if you're gonna try to scam me, don't act like i'm an idiot...

They left a pre-recorded message on my voice mail offering help for my debt problems, a 3 month break from payments, interest free something or other, etc.  All I have to do is call 613-216-9686.  Obviously a scam.

received this call; answered and heard the echo of my voice saying hello in the background - what gives This is the 3rd solicitor/harassing call I have had in the past hour (it is 7pm here - dinner time)

It is the third or forth time they are calling.  Message sais : My name is Denis St-Jacques of "Centre des petites entreprises".  They are talking about Federal Government.  Funny but the phone number that shows on the phone is : 613-216-2467.  Is it possible to stop them ?
