An obvious though scary scam.  Was told that this was Deputy Jones from the New York State Police Dept, that a federal complaint has been filed against me, and that I should surrender myself to the nearest police officer or call John Harris with the New York State Police Dept at 646-351-1902. I hung up, it is a recording but I can see how it can scare people.  Call received from this source.

A message left on my answering machine was from Deputy Jones of the N. Y. State Police Dept. stating that a Federal complaint had been filed against me and that I should either contact John Harris or report to my local Police Dept.  Did not acknowledge.  Judged it to be a sham.

Same message as Joyce and M. Armstrong reported. Did not mention my name but said a complaint had been filed against me. I am not in New York State. Clearly a scam.
Also, there's no reason why the NY State Police would be the ones to follow up on a federal complaint.
And to top it off, the call concluded with "Have a blessed day." Somehow I don't think the NY State Police would end their call that way, especially after telling me to surrender to them!

Most likely Indian or Pakistani based law scam.  Ignore and block the calls.  The [***] don't understand the American federal system and confuse various  the functions of various US law-enforcement agencies in their scams.  They do this all the time.   Laffable.

I received the same message few minutes ago I wanted to go to the police station to report this caller but obviously it's a magic jack somewhere in this whole wide world. I want to report this scam as well

Received the same message on my answering machine.  I don't have caller ID so I don't know if a number showed up.  Woman's voice left a recorded message.  There was a federal complaint filed against me and I should take myself to the nearest police department and surrender myself.  Or I could call John Harris at 646-351-1902.

My 73 yr old mother just got this call and called me all upset, so I called them - As i was trying to figure out who they were they recorded my voice and played it back to me in response to my questions,  then he said "are you Mary, will you kiss me on the d**k"  OMG I am laughing this guy up.  I told him I was calling the federal authorities and he hung up.  Now he won't take my calls "DARN!"

And I as well.  Received this call and knew it was a scam.  Same exact message as those above and no specific person asked for.  All I did was jump on the computer and search the phone number and found all you lovely folks...  This is the 3rd time I've received calls like this.  Once for me, once for my son and this non-named one.   Gee, maybe it's for both of us!
The person I feel sorry for are the elderly like Lisa's mom above...It amazes me that people not only do this but at times get away with it.  There's a special place in hell for them.

These clowns are still at it! I was told that I owed the IRS $1800.00 and that they were freezing all of my accounts and placing leins on all my property. Then I was told that they were issuing arrest warrents for me within 45 minutes. I was told that the IRS would be sueing me for $79,000, BUT IF I wanted to I could settle the outstand balance NOW they could accept payment. I should have asked if I could send it to them in lead by way of a shotgun! (didn't think quickly enough)
Also of note was the fact that I was transfered 3 times and was obviously speeking to the same guy all 4 times (poorly tried to disguise his voice and he called me by my first name during the entire call. Each of the 4 "officers" I spoke with gave me the same badge number "7411"

I received the same message as everybody here. I was really shocked because I thought somebody used my identity somewhere. I returned the call to the number in message. somebody answer my call identifying himself as IRS officer. he said that there is a fraud on my behalf and  I will be arrested and sued by the IRS or I can settle this case by paying 1000 dollars and right now. I said I'm at work right now and I can't go anywhere then he started to threaten me saying you have to pay it right now by money gram then I realize it is a scam call because as far as know a government agency like IRS will not ask you to make payment through moneygram.
guys be careful, there are lot of evils out there.

These people were calling my senior parents and were arrassing my parents with the kind of allegations. My dad is 82.and they told him IRS has three complian against him. He should make the payment or surrender himself to the authurities . My Dad almost died of a heart attack. I talked to the guy 3 times. He was a Pakistani and three times he introduced himself with different names. David Huntr, John and Michael . When I told him that I am going to report him to FBI, he called me the word B and hunged up.
These are not regular  companies. I do believe these Pakistanis are a part of the some terrorists network in New York. They make phone calls and arrassing American cutizens to spread fear and confusion in our country. They are dangerous people, the FBI and police Department should go and find these people. We can not afford to get physically, emotionally and mentally hurt by bad people. We should stand together and protect our homes and our country.

The same people when I confronted them on the phone.  They have my parents number to another branch of their network in ca, the caller ID was Shanks Barbara, the number is 209-878 - 3458. Based on a research their address is :  Barbara Shank

The man who spoke with a Pakistani accent used all the F word and B words and was going crazy over the phone because they were confronted by me. They are reported to Authurites.

I just got the same prank call as M. Armstrong and Joyce. I hung up and googled Deputy John Harris and found this page. Thanks for sharing your experience. It helped confirmed my thoughts that it was a scam call. Definitely not calling back the return # and will also alert my friends and family to be aware of this prank call.
