Today I received 2 phone calls.  They both were recorded messages from a man with an accented voice stating that he was Agent Carl Cooper from the Internal Revenue Service and that this message is for "you."  He stated that either myself or my attorney on record needed to call him immediately at 646-369-1426 to straighten this matter.  And that if I did not call he wished me good luck because I'll need it.

I've gotten this call, my dad, my cousins, my wife's family, and my friends throughout the US.  Just wanted to let you all know.  I do work for the IRS (but in IT in DC) and just wanted to let you all know that the IRS will never call you directly they will always send you a certified piece of mail requesting for you to call/see them first.    

If this guy calls again, you are entitled to ask for the person's badge number (employee ID - its long #s only), their POD (Place of Duty - address where he works), and their Office Phone Number.  And you can report it to the following IRS Website:  http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Warns-of-Pervasive-Telephone-Scam

I just got a phone call from the above number, the men with an accent asked me about my daughters info. i refused to give without knowing who he is and what is the purpose of his call. he said he is calling from IRS and his name is Brian. there is a law suit against my daughter in the IRS and that he needed to talk to her or her lawyer. i asked him to mail the letter of request to the home add, he already had my address that he read to me, and said the letter was returned to him in the mail that no one was there to receive it. i asked him to resend the letter, he said it is too late now. I have been getting this types of calls for last several weeks from different phone numbers. this is the first number i decided to check on..

Received call from David Carter, who has heavy Indian accent, that the IRS was suing my husband for taxes from 2008-2012.  He stated that I had to call 646 369 1426 for additional info.  I asked for documentation and he said that he had to transfer me to his superviser.  William Turner came on (swear it was same voice) and said that documentation had been sent and that no one was home so it was returned to the IRS. I told him that I am laid off and home all the time.  He then said my husband owed $2048.00 that needed to be paid today of authorites/police would go to his office and arrest him and take him to jail.  I yelled that I would not be threatened and hung up.  He called me back immediately and asked if I wanted my husband to be arrested and that he was recording this.  I yelled that he needed to send documentation and advised that I was hanging up and then did so.  He would provide no details of where he was calling from and was sketchy with details.

I miss the Indian accented man! Now the call from the "US TREASURY!" is a computer generated voice. Where is agent Carl Cooper?! The best thing about these con-artist calls is the entertainment value. It's gone now. BORING!

we keep getting a call, its a recorded message, man voice, NO Accent, saying to return call regarding a federal felony offense and says to call 646-369-1426.
