Unknown call from Jake at Legal Support Services telling me I had 24 hrs to call them at 646-415-7010 NewMark and Associates or I will be served legal papers requiring my signature.  This is a scam collection agency trying to lie and trick me into contacting them.  Others beware!!

I got Erica saying the same thing only its number was 626-269-9755

I got the same call from Gary. Advised he tried to serve me at home, even gave my address, however there is at least one adult at my house at all times, and no one has ever come to my door. Nice try Gary. I got the 626-269-9755 number as well and my own special in house case number. I guess I'm really important.

I got a call from Mark 626-269-9755 same thing they are serving me papers...very rude I said serve them but they are calling my job :/  

Same thing from Erika Carmichael... calling and threatening to serve me. She left my full address, place of employment (I'm self employed) and my full, maiden, past married and re-married names on the voicemail... I don't plan on calling back. Would be interested to hear what came of this with others. She called my business line.

Erica Carmichael called me from 626-269-9863  left a threatning message to contact her a.s.a.p.regarding some collection action,,The number NOT listed in google search..I told her via text to stop SPAMMING my phone number..

Sounds like a run-of-the-mill  debt scammer,  threatening  with serving papers, but never actually getting around to it.    They call again,  tell them to send you a debt validation letter  by US mail.   E-mail no good.   They'll probably throw around legal terms like "arrest"  "jail" and "warrants" (their three favorite words) but they are just trying to scare you.  You can't be arrested for ordinary civil debt.

If they continue to bother you, go to the police and make a complaint of attempted extortion.  This Erica Carmichael seems to have a Filipino accent.

I got two messags saying someone filed a complaint against me and I had to call 626-817-6029 within 24 hrs. needless to say I did not respond. I have no idea what this could be about. Does anyone have some input?

I forgot to say it was Newmark and Assoc. of Pasadena, Calif.

This is an attempt to extort money from you.
1. Phone calls (faxes & emails too) mean nothing.
2. Warrants are delivered unannounced by an officer of the court.
3. IF they call again, demand written proof of the debt.
4. Expect threats of jail, etc.  That in itself is a violation of the law!!

Do a web search for that company.

I got a call at work saying I needed to contact them about some legal matters.

Got a call from unknown number and Elizabeth left me a message...I don't get it, she mentioned my CURRENT ADDRESS and said legal documents pertaining a complaint against me were sent to my address however was unsuccessful??? I have never seen or received a damn letter from this so call new mark and associates company! So, I wanted to know what the heck this is all about and called the number that SHE had given me to call back with a file number..." Your call cannot be completed." What the heck is that?! The number that she gave me is not even valid! I'm just gonna agree with the posts above that this is a scam!

Same here, unknown call and a voice message from an Elizabeth. I wanted to know what the heck she's talking about so just minutes later I called the number that she gave me to call back and the number was not even in service lol! SCAM!!

I got a call from Newmark & Associates as well, but they have a new number, 619-500-3626.  They threatened the same stuff as the other posts show.  They wanted to serve me at work, but refused to allow me to meet them somewhere to serve me the papers as I refused to have them come up and serve me at work.  I asked simple questions, so he got mad and said that I was being combative, he was going to mark my file, serve me at home, and take further legal action.  He then hung up on me.  Checked my credit report to see if any mention of this account existed, but found nothing from all three credit agencies in regards to the supposedly original debtor or the amount that he stated.  Tried to call back and it said that the Google subscriber is unavailable to answer the phone.  What kind of company gets a Google phone number?

Someone from this 619-500-3626  is calling everyone that I know and when I called back a Mark Hernandez answered and said that I was to go pick up papers at the court house. when asked what this is regarding I was told that I already knew and if I did not pick up these papers I would get a failure to appear and hung up on me.

Mark is a very popular guy. I just spoke with him and he would not answer any of my questions. Mark (perhaps not his real name...) did not provide me with any of my personal information, nor did he provide me with the nature of the call. When I asked him to mail me a validation letter, his tone became aggressive and he stated that he will mail me whatever documentation he had. Unfortunately, he never confirmed the address that he would be mailing. It is unfortuante how many scammers are out there trying to take advantage of people. They need to be stopped.
