I receive text messages from this number as from, "service@chase-online-oct.com".  The message says, "no subject / Chase Memo:  Please call 1-646-455-1727 to activate your card."  Well, I do not have a Chase. I believe it is some kind of phishing expedition. I delete the message, and I've never dialed the number.

I got the same text you did at the same time. I called the number out of curiosity and its a automated message asking for my personal info.. Ss# included. I put in a bunch of random digits just to see what would happen. Scary stuff. And to think of the poor people who fall for this.
Can i ask you if your from ct or went to the big e fair? I'm trying to see if its from some contest form i filled out and they sold my information

well i got the same text and i am in las vegas, nv so i doubt its something you signed up for at a fair.  can i ask if you owe any debt collectors?  i think thats what this is for.

Depends on what info you gave them.

• If you gave them ANY financial info, contact your banks and card issuers, and inform them of the problem.  DO THAT IMMEDIATELY!
• Also, sign up for ID protection.
• Be aware that you will be the target of even more scammers.  BE CAREFUL!
