Caller left a message saying there were from the internal revenue and were filing a a lawsuit against me.  Left the above number as a call-back.  I think it is a scam.

It is definitely a scam.....I work for the IRS and this is NOT how you're informed of a liability, criminal investigation, or ANY other business with them.  They had the misfortune of calling ME and trying this.  It was pretty comical.

Exact same thing happened to me that happened to Richard the caller from above.

I received the same call claiming my husband was listed as a suspect in criminal charges with the IRS.  The call came thru on my cell phone as "unavailable".  It was a recorded message so I called the number back.  A foreign gentlemen answered and told me the above comment.  He asked to speak to my husband who wasn't home.  The gentlemen knew my last name and my husbands name.  He would not give me any information about the "charges"..... this is a scam.. don't give them any information!!!!

same thing here.. Was a recorded message just now on my cell.  I looked up the scams on irs.gov. Didn't see this one listed. Googled phone number and came to this posting.  Scam... The phone number on the caller id was...608122906000075

I got a call from the IRS stating that they were filing a lawsuit against someone at my telephone number, but failed to identify who. I tried to call the number they left and was unable to get through. Who are these guys???

At 10:22 this morning, I got a message saying that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me and to call this number.   The number on my phone was 1-303-330-0995.  The "name" on caller ID was V609102258000075.

Nothing makes sense.  I didn't call back, this is a scam.  I've had dealings with the IRS, they don't call.
