Got 3 calls 1 message, some sort of scam about the IRS

something about irs, i need to contact them

I got a call from this number and this is the message that I receive.  They start speaking before my VM starts recording.

...return the call.  The issue at the hand is extremely time sensitive. my name is officer (inaudable name) and the (inaudible attempt to pronounce IRS) is 646-475-2206...repeats number... now if you don't return the call and I don't hear from you either then the only thing I can do for you is wish you "a good luck" as the situation "is" badly falls on you.  and this is Officer (intentionally inaudible name) and the Interno Re-vin-u Servation. Goodbye and take care..

The fact that they cant pronouce IRS is not the only thing that says "SCAM".  BTW, Those are not grammar errors in the text, that is what was spoken. They did refer to me by name in the message too, but hey, at least they wished me good luck.

Voicemail message that was left was "…on the call, the issue at the hand is extremely time sensitive.  My name is officer Arline Gougan. Hotline to my division is 646-475-2206. I repeat it’s 646-475-2206.  Now if you don’t return the call and if I don’t hear from your attorney either then the only thing I can do for you is wish you a good luck as the situation badly unfolds on you.  Again this message is for you and this is officer Arline Gougan from the internal revenue service department. Good bye and take care."

I'm guessing on the spelling of the name as it was hard to understand the speaker.  The person also began leaving the message before the "beep".

I ALSO JUST RECEIVED THE SAME SCAM MESSAGE ON MY CELL PHONE NUMBER

I received the same calls, several calls on my cell phone where they hang up when I answer.  Today I answered the phone and it didn't disconnect.  I got the exact same message that was left for the other people here.   I called back and she was extremely rude and hung up on me.  She DID know my name though when I called back.  Very strange and a bit troubling, but glad to find out this is just a scam. Thanks all for posting.

Message from IRS officer, tried to call back and it was busy, so looked it up and it appears to be a SCAM
