Called and left a long message about me being criminally in trouble

Got a call from the same number telling me that I have a criminal charge filed against me for a payday loan that I took out and didn't pay.. Mind you I never took any loan out in my life besides student loans.. Total scam!! Someone needs to report this!

Got a call today saying I was served papers for a debt wouldnt tell me anything about it just had my number home address n email! Said I could face 4-6 yrs in prison n said u clearly dont want this solves is this a joke.....um really? Sister found this website with the same number that called me a guy named peter

They just called me and said that I have a criminal charge against me for not returning a product  and that there was an file against me. He said I could pay to resolve the case outside of court $600.29 or I could pay in court $4k+. When he told me his name was Morris smith I knew it was a scam because he clearly sounded Indian and could hardly speak English. SCAM!!

Tried to tell me his was an officer & I was bring criminally charged but wouldn't tell me what for! Indian accent. SCAM

This number calls be around 3 today, not recognizing the number I let it go to voicemail. The message says it is Officer Jack Martin with the Federal Crime & Investigation Department and there has been a legal case filed against my name and social security number. Myself or my attorney needs to call him back immediately at 646-480-0796. If we don't all he can do is wish me good luck and have a great day. I knew it was a scam but called back anyway. He gave me a case number and said it was from USA Loan Corporation for a loan I took out in 2013. He couldn't tell me the exact date or the exact website I got this loan from. I never took out a loan from any website plus any legitimate Federal agency is going to know details, not to mention serve you with an arrest warrant if you are going to be prosecuted.

This number called me midday and left a voicemail. Very same incident as the person previously stated was that the message was from a Robert Smith with Federal Crime & Investigation Dept regarding a legal case filed against my name and SS#. The number was 646-480-0796. I called back concerned someone had stolen my identity and was very upset to find out that this was regarding USA Loan Corp for a payday loan taken at a Cash Advance in Dec 2013. I have never taken a paydayloan and when I was firm on this they transferred me to their manager Chris Morrison who proceeded to tell me that I had to pay $425 in order to put a 'hold on my file' for them to investigate it further to get the person who took out the loan in my name. When I stated that I could not pay that today he said a min of $150 was required and they would set up payments for the remainder. This was required to resolve the matter outside of court. The money would be reimbursed to me upon it being resolved. The # and person I was referred to call back 646-929-3580 Chris Morrison. When I called back to require them to send me the documents they had with my signature as I remained calm the other person on the phone escalated their voice and hung up on me. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM - proceed to the site www.consumerfinance.gov to file a complaint "debt collection"

Called July 10 ,2014 and left message.  John McClain (funny name did it come from the movie Die Hard) from the Federal Crime Investigation Bureau.  Could not pronounce my name, voice was in an Indian Accent.  Said I had violated Federal Crimes against the Nation and my attorney or myself must call back immediately before agents came to "jail" me.  Call back immediately at 646-480-0796 to stop your going to jail.  How can a Federal agency research your actions and know you so well that they can not pronounce your first or last name, and it is a common name.  Scam-phishing-idiots.  Don't waist your time calling unless you call block the return call and want to have fun wasting their time.  Run them through their managers and when almost tired of the game tell them your an investigator reporting findings to the real FBI or FDIC or any agency you choose.  This will then complete the phone conversation, from their end-immediate hang up.

Received a call from this number saying my first name and that he was Officer Stu Johnson and he was investigationg a fraud filed against me and my SS #. If I want to take care of this to call him back with or without my attorney but if not "good Luck to me" He was of Indian descent. I called back with call blocker on and the call kept getting rejected. When I took the blocker off I could hear it was a call center . Total scam, set my phone to block all calls from this number and added a report to the Do Not Call center. Also updated my "do not call" since I was told it expired after a certain time.

I also just got a call. What a scam. Never took out a pay day loan in my life.  

My phone call is the same as all the above - Indian accent - could hardly pronounce words correctly, told me if I did not call back (left me a voice mail), I would be considered "guilty".  Made a report to the Do Not Call Registery.

There is nothing the FCC can do. This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

This person with a very heavy accent called and left a message saying that there was a report against my name and SS# and myself or my attorney needed to call them back. I called the number back and started asking questions as who was reporting this. He said USA Loan corporation. While on the phone with him, I researched the company and it is a pay day loan company. I have never taken a pay day loan out. While I explained to him I want all the information since my credit score is 798 and I always pay my bills on time, I researched the number. It is 100% fraud. They are trying to get you to go to a web site and put in your personal information. I told him if he called again, my attorney would be calling and he was going to get sued.

This number has called me twice.  First time I let it go to voicemaila and the second time (today) I answered.  The guy had a very heavy accent and would only tell me that they were investigating the person who has that number.  When I asked what they were investigating they guy got very agitated and started threatening me.  I asked how he could be with a federal agency and I could barely understand him.  Told him if he called me back that I would contact my local police and have them investigate him for harassement and he said "Do you know who you are talking to?  The police won't touch me.  They are scared of me." I told him not to call again and I hung up on him.

Sick of getting calls from thus number!!!!!  I have never taken out a loan so how can I be financially in trouble.  WTF????

I just got a call from this number stating I am being accused of money laundring, and steeling money from companies.

I just got the same call, I'm filing a complaint with the New State Attorney's office internet fraud division (www.ag.ny.gov) as well as the Federal Trade Commission for consumer fraud (877-382-4357 or consumerfinance,gov)  I recommend you guys to do the same,

I just got a call from this number and they told me that I have a Federal warrant out on me and that I've been subpoenaed.  WHAT?? All I could say was for the third time is "Sir, can you repeat that, I'm not understanding your accent".  After that all I just hung up.

I got this EXACT same call & message today around 10 am - July 15th.  I am not returning his call as I knew it had to be a scam.  Exact officer name & exact message.  Just wish he would stop calling my house -- very annoying!

I received a call today from this number 646-480-0796 today at 3:54 PM California time....it was the same heavily accented Indian voice (like APU from The Simpsons cartoon) who called me at 11:35 AM today from an 844-244-4492 number who identified himself as "Agent Kevin Smith" looking for a [totally not my name, had "Bristol" in it] who had fraud charges pressing against and so on.

I said the same thing I used this morning on "Mr. Smith":  "Zool ha-ba-wah, haba-shi-boo-wahhh....and may you sleep upwind from a herd  of yaks."  For some odd reason Mr. Smith hung up on me...again...just like he did this morning.
