A male with a thick accent and improper English called from 646*502*6605, asking me to go to my computer and type in certain things that will allow him to help me fix a "slow computer" problem.

This obvious scammer no doubt would have me go to his website and put in my credit card number or bank account number so he could rob me blind.

Creepy.

I received the same call as Leah above.  They called me several times the past 2 days but also gave me 1-888-408-4117 and 718-819-1080 to call them back when I was ready to have them remotely connect to my computer.  He claimed his name was Neil Johnson (certainly not a name I have ever heard for an Indian man).  He claimed he was calling because I was getting virus & attachments that could harm my computer when I go online.  I advised him I had Norton 360 and that is detects these things.  He told me that Norton could not detect becuase it is something that comes from the operating system.  I called Microsoft (since I have Windows 7), Gateway (the maker of my laptop) and Norton.  All 3 said they have no knowledge of this issue and took down the info this guy gave me.  They said they will do an investigation,

I am on the DoNotCallList.  Why am I getting these calls.  This number called me today at 2:21 PM.

Received several calls from the same number asking me if I had a computer I ignored him and pretended I did not hear him he is then hung up.  Note he knew my last name.  Beware!

Called 7-10-2012, a thick Indian accent. Wanted to fix my computer. I followed his steps as he took me to the "Event Viewer" screen in the Computer Management section of Computer. Then when I asked how he got my name he said since I use the Windows OS he got my name (implied from MS), asked who he represented, and why he wanted me to go into the Event Viewer, he said Thank you and hung up.

This number would call back to back my answering machine would pick up and they hang up. It happened 3 days in a row.Sometime my caller id would say unknown and sometime it would show New York,NY

Basically same as above. Heavy indian accent, said he was with Windows. I informed him that WA state law does not allow unsolicited calls from businesses. There is a rather heavy fine to the callers company, if taken on the the state attorneys' office. He did not have the chance to give his info as I was screaming @ him and then hung up. He called back 4 times within the next few minutes. I did not answer.

This male with a very thick Indian accent identified himself as "Steve Martin".  He stated that he needed access to our computer to Fix a virus, and needed a credit card number to charge us $47.00.
His calls are more frequent, up to 4-5 times a day.
He is abrasive and rude.
When we told him we are on the National Do Not Call list, he said "I do not participate with the National Do Not Call lis".
He was told that my IT guy said nothing was wrong with the computer. This made him angry and he asked if we would trust our local IT guy to fix a windows 7 problem. We told him we don't have windows 7, and he said that we did have a virus. hmmmmm
DO NOT GIVE THIS YOYO ANY INFORMATION.

Noone said hello. I just heard music in the background. They have called in the alst 2 days. and I also live in wa state. you can turn this company in to the fcc. thanks

im reporting this number. This a ruse crude dude. trying to sell something to people. I think its a scam

This number called me at approximately 545pm July 13....I didn't answer. Happy Friday the 13th, dude!!!

Oh this baffoon has called me several times!  I have ask him repeatedly and I have ask him to remove me...he continues to call and is VERY belligerent!  I have turned him into the FCC...but this evening I told him I have already turned him in and if he continued I would contact an attorney...I ask him if he understood that....he said no...told him if he could speak english maybe he would and called him a stupid s.o.b.....he hung up and called me back and told me to F his A$$!!!!!!  and I didn't know who I was talking to....SO tomorrow...I will call the FCC!!!  I am done with this scam artist!  I know for a fact that I do NOT have a virus and my computers are fine!  I never purchase anything over the phone!  I will get to the bottom of this.......we all need to place calls to the FCC!!!!

I had literally just walked in the door to hear that a-hat on the phone to my teenager. I am so floored at what I heard hi say to my teenager.. "What you little s***? Don't you f***** understand English? If you're going to live in America learn to speak it. When is (both my hubby & I's) name getting home? "  I grabbed the phone replied... When your funeral happens a-hat. Then hung up.

We are on the National Do Not Call list for all our cells and home phone. Needless to say I'm pretty p*****. Off to report a-hat to FCC.

I had been seeing this number pop up on my phone periodically over the last few weeks, and always ignored it, but since I was expecting a friend's potential place of employment to call me for a reference check, I have been answering numbers that I simply don't recognize.  Today was one of those fun times!  I received a phone call from (646) 502-6605, which came up as New York.  The man said "Hello, Mr.______" which is my father's name (haven't lived with them in 13 years).  I then asked "Whom would you like to speak with?" and he just kept going on and on about do I use a computer and blah blah blah.  He spoke with a very thick Indian accent, so I had to ask him to repeat himself multiple times.  He told me "I know that you use the internet" and guess what?  He's correct!  I asked him to please identify what organization he was calling me from and he said "I want to make it clear that this is not a place of business.  I am making a courtesy call to everyone who uses the Windows operating system."  He proceeded to tell me that I have viruses and spyware on my computer that only he can remove.  He said "Go ahead and log into your computer right now and tell me what you see." And I said, "I can't." And then he asked "Why not?" And I shared with him that I was busy making dinner for my husband and that I don't have the time to go boot up my computer right now.  He told me "I understand" and let me go!  Didn't get any aggressive callbacks or anything......lol.  I will also be reporting this because I can totally see my grandma falling for this guy's ruse.  Ridiculous!  :)

Received call today 7/20/12 at 11:32am. Caller ID said Private number. I not home so could not answer. No message left. I don't answer calls I don't recognize. Let go to answering machine, then if I want to talk, answer. Too many scams out there for this litlle old lady. I am really trying to be as careful as I know how to be. I am also on the National Do Not Call List. Have been for years but found out last year you have to update it every 3 years which I did however didn't help still keep getting calls from everywhere. Can't keep all my phones caller ID's cleaned out from all these stupid calls. ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS HOW TO STOP THIS MADNESS? WOULD LOVE TO KNOW HOW.

This idiot called again today!  I ask him to send me a certified letter of what I supposedly purchased and how much...he became very belligerent again...cursed me...hung up and proceeded to call me right back to curse me (which not very well in his broken English) and hung up!  when someone does figure out how to stop these calls I would like to know....I have contacted the FCC and re-submitted my number on the do not call list...and still getting them!

This person calls all the time!  Beware...it is a SCAM!  but I have yet to figure out how to stop the calls!  Good luck!

Just got a call from this number! Twice with two different IDs. One private number the other a bunch of letters and numbers.

Received call July 25th from same person as others have reported - informed him that my phone number is on the "do not call" list, and that I was going to report it - and that he was liable for up to a $10,000 fine.  His response was "do whatever you have to do".  I hung up on him.  I'm certainly not going to allow him or anyone else access to my computer to put a virus on it, or to hack into my computer in any way...

Wow. He's back at it this morning. Just got my first call from this guy but didn't have a chance to answer.
