    LGIVINGMOMENTS....on the caller ID screen?

This caller hit my number twice today, at 1:20 PM (646-558-3519) and 4:54 Pm (646-558-6688). The same ID showed up both thimes. What makes this all creepy is that around 1:00 PM, I had gotten a phone call from a friend of mine who lives in Canada, whose home phone number ends in 3519.

If you should see the name Saints for Sinners, leave the place or the site immediately. This is the name of the business of a person who gets his jollies by hijacking contact lists of churches, universities, and even ordinary people like you and me. He uses these lists to send out self-replicating messages -- "Hey (and your name)" -- and has used my name to spoof messages to my friends.

He also runs a couple of X-rated internet sites, and owns two X-rated gift shops in the "old quarter" of this city. He is absolutely, totally nasty, and does things like these to let me know that he knows where I am. I have no doubt that he is able to find out what call complaint sites I frequent, and has read my comments at this one and others.

I simply keep reporting these calls. He hijacked the contact list for a local university, and the university stopped him, while telling me that the call machinery was probably having a few bugs.

FOOTNOTE: Googling LGIVINGMOMENTS pulled up information about what appears to be a perfectly fine organization "LifeGivingMoments" that encourages "positive social activism by young people", and gives out awards, too, for videos such as might be see on the site GodTube (the letter "T" is in the shape of a Latin cross). LGM's headquarters are in Santa Fe, New Mexico. (505-819-3959)

As for who is making the calls, this is the sum total of what can be learned by visiting various complaint sites: The source has been flagged as a telemarketer. The calls reported on apparently come from Alliance Health Care. The calls are coming from the Peerless Network of New York LLC - NY, which sounds very "hokey" to me. This telemarketer has been using numerous different numbers, with the 646-558-XXXX pattern for over three years now.

How do you get trapped? According to many complaints, the person themselves or someone else in their household took a survey, and that was all it took.

The caller ID said "LGIVINGMOMENTS".  I did not answer the call.

After reading Walker's comments, I realize I took a consumer opinion survey a couple months ago.  Yeah, something took over my brain, because now I regret it.  We get all sorts of calls now.  Lesson learned.  :-(

    Hmmm
I never take telephone surveys and just received a hang-up call from this number.  I'm guessing they're just using an auto-dialer.  Now I'll add this number to my phone's address book under SCAM so that I know not to pick up in the future.

I answered and the caller asked for my wife by name. They said they were from Life Giving Moments.

@Walker - Any organization can seem fine by saying they are promoting "positive social activism by young people" or some such nonsense. They are scammers. Please quit spreading the false information that somehow the person being called is responsible. The calls are illegal. There's no need to apologize for the scammers.

No one in my household has ever taken a phone survey. My wife is smart enough to never answer the phone so they probably stole here contact info from a university list.

I answered a call originating from this number just a few minutes ago (called at 6:48 PM PST on 01/07/13).  The female caller specifically asked to speak with my father, who has been deceased for over 3.5 years now.  In response to my asking of who exactly was calling, and before I stated the rather important bit of information regarding my late father's inability to field the call himself, the caller said they would like to speak with "any adult living in the home", and then launched into a survey, apparently having to do with the attitudes of parents/grandparents with regards the perceived effect(s) current media/entertainment is having on their children/grandchildren.  I inquired how they got our contact info, and informed them there was no one residing here who was caring for young children.  I requested that we NOT be contacted again, but it sure sounded like the call was disconnected before I could complete MY request.

This is the first call I am aware from originating from this (or any similar) organization.  We generally do not participate in telephone surveys, so even though I provided little info (i.e., the person being sought was definitely not available any longer in this world), I'm wondering if we will be pestered in the future.  Hope it's not an invite for more disruptions.

This certainly has ALL of the earmarks of the scams that seem so abundant these days.  We get hundreds of calls from scammers, even though we rarely answer the phone when an unknown number comes through.  I used to think that there were an infinite number of scammers out there, but now suspect, that the same group of criminals, actually runs ALL sorts of  different scams.   These folks tend to change the numbers they use, spoof the numbers, and shift the scam according the times (there were lots of political type scams around election time).  No matter what these folks claim to be doing, ultimately, they are hoping to get a credit card number from you,   Haven't figured out any way to stop such calls ... the DNC list doesn't do anything and there seems to be NO authority stopping the scams.  We can block over a 100 numbers, but the numbers change so often, that it only works to temporarily stop the repeat calls.  Wish that some folks weren't keeping the criminals in business ....

    I received a call from LGIVINGMOMENTS 646-558-6688.
No longer answer phone calls unless I recognize the number.  Even turned off the answering machine so the phone rings on and on!  Have noticed the telemarkers hold on for 4 rings only - pity, I was hoping these idiots would hold on for the 7 rings.

Received a call from this number from (caller ID said New York)  lady asked us to do a survey with some stupid questions and afterwards asked us to press 9 on the phone. That was when we knew it was some sort of scam and asked more questions at which she immediately hung up.

We received a call from this number a woman left an overly friendly message for a first name and indicated that she was calling on behalf of Dr. Warner and referring Jeff Utu and his wife for marriage counseling.  She did not leave her number when she left the message and we both thought that if it was a real doctor's office calling they absolutely violated HIPPA.

I filter all our home line calls through Google Voice, then on to MagicJack Plus line. Google Voice caught it as spam automatically (what does that tell you?). I now have them on one of my blocked lists.

Received call at 10:39 am today.  Since caller ID only said "New York NY"  I did not answer.  A woman asked for me by first name.  Since she talked over my answering machine, I am sure this was a robo-call.  She then immediately hung up.
