This number has called me several times to day to be claming that they work with Advance America and trying to say Im going to jail because i did not pay a payday loan. They could not give me any information so I assume it is a scam to collect money from me. I only had one loan and it was not a payday loan

Called me today saying I was going to jail. I have been scammed before like this. Dont know what to believe. They said thry were a law firm and the mans name was alex jones...can anyone tell me anything about it?

Total Scam Guy says hes located at 100 church st ny ny 10007 and no way its all [***] like Indians lol there not located there in nyc not one English person there. don't pay them anything.

Just called and told me I am going to go to jail and they have charged me with fraud, theft by deception and something else for a payday cash advance I never recieved.

I just got a call from this same number about i'm going to jail for a serious matter and its laughable because I never have received a payday loan or any kind of loan ever in my life! If this dude is trying to scam someone he found the wrong person because he has no legal standing to try to even have a  warrant of any kind!!! HAHAHAHAH jokes on him!!!!!!

Not very good scam people cause they just tried to call me from (646) 583-1541 and give me a loan!
So which is it your having a warrant put out for me or you wanna give me money?

Got a phone call around noon today by a person named Kevin Williams who has a strong accent stating he was from criminal justice legal law service.  He said that i need to call him back in a timely manner or a warrant would be issued. I called back twice and it went straight to voice mail saying no one is available. Please leave a message.

I got call said i need a lawyer i owe a paydsy loan and they were going to have me arrested
I never had any loan but he had all my info.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

I got the same call from some foreigner.  They need to stand in line like everybody else and get a job.  Idle hands are the devils playground and obviously they have too much time on their hands to play pranks on the phone to steal peoples money.

i had the same kind of call from a guy named Keven Williams saying he representing a micheal green and sayin i owed 5 thousand dollars and then said it was 300 dollars on a payday loan i never recieved when asked for fax number to show proof the guy hung up

Someone by the name of Kevin Williams called my cellphone and my job talking about taking me jail. I called back and told them to cease from calling me.

Just got a phone call from this number telling my i'm going to go to jail for fraud if I did not pay a certain amount of money and ever wanted me to get a pre-paid card and call him back with the number.

This is the same guy who claims the Boston Marathon explosion was a US government plot, that the 9/11 terrorist attacks were a conspiracy of the Bush Administration, and who used a gun tirade to call out Piers Morgan on the latter's own show.

And he's known all over the world due to his Internet postings and the fact that his radio show is syndicated on a high power shortwave station (WWCR) from Nashville, one of the few worldwide commercial broadcasters still on the air.

So that's where they are getting the name "Alex Jones."

A man by the name of Kevin Williams from New York Law Dept. 646-583-1547. Is calling and harassing me to reach a gentleman not tied to my number. He has even called my place of employment, to try to reach me. No loans or outstanding debt. So it's a scam and people need to be aware of this.

Called my place of employment left a message on our voice mail saying that I am going to go to jail if I don't return his call before the end of the day? Very rude on the voice mail,  Harassing phone call the person had a strong accent.

Sorry to sound this way but if the caller has a strong Indian style accent with a name like John Collins or Kevin Wiliams, it is a scam and not real. Don't pay and don't confirm any information. This fool on the phone tried to say that the Atty I had needed to be a criminal atty. These are rude nasty bottom feeders who need to be stopped, but as they are calling from some 3rd world country we can't get to them. These thieves tried to argue with me that I needed a criminal Atty to deal with this issue. They are deliberatly misstating the facts. YOU CAN'T BE THROWN IN JAIL for owing money the way that they portray it. Don't pay them a cent.

I received a call from these people on my work line, which has not been given to anyone, with the exception of my immediate family for emergencies. He stated that if I didn't call him back, that he wished me well, and that I would be prosecuted. Ummm, prosecuted for what? I have no clue what they are calling me for. I have had someone call me like this before, and they had all of my information, and me being somebody who has worked in law enforcement before, knew that it was a huge scam. I have had to file a police report before, because they had information about me, that I've never released to anyone. These people have ways of getting information....
