This number is part of a scam, they call posing as a law firm and threaten to arrest you unless you pay back a loan. Do not respond to the call. Instead report it using the FBI website.

Received a call from this number just now. The person said that this was of great legal importance to me. He asked if I would verify the last four of my social security number which he had. I told him that I could not verify it, I have visited with the Utah Attorney General's office about this before and it is a scam. I told the person to not call me that this was a scam. He sais that the authorities would be sent to me tomorrow morning. I told him to go ahead and send them. I told him that I will report him, he said go ahead. He had a very heavy accent. (SCUM)!!

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

this dude has called me three times on my cell phone and even left a message telling me to call him or face leagle consequenses he has like a indian accent and i'm sick of him call my cell phone

I just got a call from Ron. Heavy indian accent. Told me he was issuing the arrest warrent right now from New York. Told him I work for sherriff's department and he cannot use arrest as threat.

just recived a call from this number ,the guy said he was an attorney and they were going to arrest me for writing bad checksand fraud!I if I didn't respond by mon they were going to arrest me!

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

•is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
•refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
•asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
•exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

•Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
•Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
•Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
•Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

caller has called my emploment countless times threatning that i wrote a bad check to a lending company which i never did. dont know how they got my number or my info. this is very frusteating and insulting this company needs to be located and arrested for violating acalifornia law every one be aware.. i need to find out how the people can be stop they have a heavy accent like from india.. and use american names.. please help

This number changes from week to week; last week it was MIKE and today, it was John Meyers an attorney with the law firm of David Hernandez in New York.  This man threatened to have me arrested for a debt he claimed I owed.  I recognized his voice from last week's call and actually had my attorney call him.  DO NOT give this thief a cent.  If you get a call stating that he is a lawyer and you owe him money on behalf of cash usa or whatever company or alias he decides to use - THAT IS NOT LEGAL.  Please report this activity so that some poor person doesn't get trapped by these scammers.  

I got the very same call.......put my attorney on the phone with him in my presence as I am a paralegal.  Tried to block the number but he changes numbers every week.......its a spoof number that bounces and its a total scam.  Thanks for posting.

I got a call on my cell phone today, that read unknown caller. This person with a heavy Indian accent left  a  message not once but twice. Leaving his name as Ron Adams stating that he was an attorney threatening that if I didn't call him immediately that I would suffer severe consequences. I called the number 646-583-2848 he answered stating he was Ron Adams with a very heavy Indian accent. He stated that I was supposed  to be in court tomorrow. I told him I did not know what he was talking about. he then stated that I owed some US Check cashing place and it was for fraudgalant check cashing and threatened to have me arrested at my employer or my residence. This is a scam and very disturbing. I hope they catch these people and arrest them.

This man is now calling and making rude and beyond cured threatening comments to my family when they inform him I don't live there. He has called six times today and it's one right after the other. He's been calling for a while now like months now. I've told him to stop calling and leave me alone I don't want anything to do with any loans, and yet he still calls. Very annoying

This number called my office asking for "Andrew Jackson". I stated no one here by that name, then he asked who I was. After hanging up with him, he called right back and asked if I liked d**k. I informed him not to call my office again or I would call the police.

I have gotten calls from this number on more occassions than I can count. They called last year for my son, threatened him with a warrant for his arrest if he didn't show up in court in CT, I live in MA, he had previously moved to VT. He came down, went to the court house as asked, no one was there, no one knew of any case having anything to do with him. I thought this was over. I just got another call today, I returned the call, and I recocnized the voice, the name of the firm and I yelled that I KNEW it was a scam, that if they don't stop calling the FBI will be knocking on their door, because I have already reported them. PLEASE track these people down. Please!!!!!

Caller claimed he was John Mayer, an attorney representing the David Hernandez Law Firm (a legitimate firm in Brooklyn). I played along and then I was transferred. The next guy (both Indian accents) claimed he was also John Mayer. I was to send them $300 using a "PAK" ( I never heard of this) money order that I could get at 7-Eleven (no joke), Walgrens. or Wal-Mart.

This person from 6465832848 just called and said I was going g to be arrested tomorrow morning for writing bad checks.  I don't have a checking acct so how is this possible.  He is saying he is with Ben morris at tourney office.  

Received a call from a Justin Smith - stating that if I didn't call them back, I would be arrested, but if I paid the money that I was suppose to owe this cash advance co, they thing would be OK. I was suppose to get a money pac and pay them the sum of $350.00, plus another $120. to process the paper work.
I have has several callers all with American names, but heavy Indian accents. I was foolish enough to pay the first time they called  - BUT never again - It is a scam - keep reporting these people - maybe someday they will be caught and their scams be shut down !!!!
