I received a call from Bob Cooper stating he has my social number and other
personal information and it is very important to return his call, when the call
showed up on my cell phone it showed 0110 so I did not answer the phone I waited for a message so that is how I got the call back number he stated he works for a firm Call Law and Legal I searched the internet and I did not find such company.

I have received repeated phone calls from this number, usually showing up as 0100 or just +0.  I finally answered one day as I was curious who this person was.  I was sometimes receiving calls 4 times in a row.  Yesterday, I spoke with an Indian man who claimed to be Officer Bob Cooper from the NYPD.  He said there was a lawsuit filed against me and he was going to transfer me to another officer to speak to.  knew right then that phone call was bogus. Would a police office in a different state really call that many times a day regarding a law suit?  And what would the police department have to do with it?  

Today, he called 2 more times and finally left a message, but this time he didn't refer to himself as an officer.  He had a lot of my personal info and said my ssn had been blocked by the govt.  First of all, even if there was a lawsuit against me in some other state, they don't go around blocking ssn.  And what does that mean anyway? "Blocked my ssn?"

I've been getting phone calls from the name number but it's an Idian sounding guy claiming to be an "officer roy brown".  Next time anyone calls ask them for either the badge number or the tax id number.  It is a bogus caller.  I have called the FBI and reported them and asked them questions about this.  They told me that if there were any such case out on you it would be a lawyer contacting you but by certified letter, not by phone.  They also told me that if you ignore them they will stop calling.  There is NO WAY there can be a "block on your SSN".  As far as I know, no one can do that, that is like putting a block on your birth date.  These people are ignorant and believe that we Americans are even more so than they.  LOL.  I would suggest calling the FBI as well.

This indian sounding guy called talking about legal matter and my ssn waqs blocked. I called him bac and ask him was this a scam and who he worked for. He got mad and hung the phone up. I called back he said he will send me an email with the legal documents. Still waiting

igot the call today from this number its a majic jack phone number they are using a computer ..heres the funny thing. i called them back after i told them my husband was unavailable and gave them some bogus name and they gave me an adress to verify ...so i played along and told him yes that was my address then he says do u have ten minutes for me to explain a legal matter to you? I agreed and then he says well i need the last four of your ss number and i said well who are you to be asking !!! HE HUNG UP! lol fricking go back to india and get a real job mister americans are smarter than that !

Just 30 minutes ago this indian guy named Bob Cooper called stating the same situation that all you guys have encountered. Is there anything we can do to stop him? They where asking me for money stating that I had taken a payday loan out from Cash net USA. They insisted on me making even a small payment.... they gave me all the info they had on me, from last 4 on social to my home address.

Jose - do not pay them a cent - they have stolen your information and are using it to try to extort money  from you. They cannot arrest you or have your social security number blocked - these things would not happen even if the debt was legitimate. Read the post by "the saint" under the number 646-478-7598 on this site. The FBI issued a press release about this scam in December 2010 also. If you have given them your card number to make a payment - cancel it now! Put a fraud watch on all your accounts. Good luck - they call from all different numbers using all different americanized names - remember - they are liars and thieves - be prepared they may try to contact you at work or family and friends if they have that information.

this is the second post i have left about this. The day after i had another call from the same people with a different phone number. I told him i knew he was a scammer and to [***] OFF then i hung up the whole time he kept saying maam maam no no it is not. well he had the balls to call me back and i said hello and he said did u just hang up on me and i said apparently you dont kno the meaning of the american words [***] OFF and then i said let me spell them for you F_ U C and before i could get done with the rest of it he hung up on me. THey get your information from any kind of payday loan that you may have filled out paperwork for that is why they only have the last 4 of your ss normally not all of it. but remeember when u fill this stuff out you also put ur account number from your bank account in so be careful we had filled out paperwork for cashnet payday loan but never went through with it. Idiots !

a indian guy name jack smith call me again & again and convinance me to pay money back my comp. and comp will give me bonus.

Says his name his Roy Brown with some legal mumbo jumbo and keeps trying to get me to call back always appears as unavailable on my phone then goes to voice mail this is just so very annoying these middle eastern people keeps call and harrassing us citizens about some bogus debt that is not owed!!! Why cant our government stop these people same thing as a terrorrists in my opinion. Where is our rights as U S Citizens I ask our wonderful government????

i think its bull crap that u sign up for help and these ppl can steal ur information from databases that are supposed to be secure..WTF i have had 47 phone calls today from them. i do kno the person they are calling about and told them he is lodged in jail which he is, i even gave tehm the phone number to call up there if they wanted to. but he keeps calling back and when i say he is lodged in jail please call there he tells me no i want to speak to him now..and i said or else what? u gonnna come bomb my [***] and blow it to big fat pieces..lol morons i love to mess with them.

I have been recieving these types of calls for a couple of years.  In the beginning I thought maybe it was real but realized I never took out a payday loan back then.  Then they said they would settle for 600.00, I told them in a nice way to step off.

These guys can barely speak english, I guess I would have already been taken to jail by now if this started a couple of years ago....

What can be done?  This is not the only number I get calls from.

He calls me too, and they are calling my job and I have had to explain that it is a scam and to just tell them I dont work there anymore.

It is making my life miserable

I have been receiving harrassing phone calls from numerous numbers with these indian people on the other line.. they have said so many names i could not even begin to tell you them... the last time they called he said he was office bob cooper i asked him for an address and he told me to shut the f up and listen to him.. women should not talk out of turn... WTF... any ways i spoke with my attorney who has continued to call them and they continue to hang up on her... i am ready to file a class action lawsuit against these people for harrasment and slander

i completely understand how miserable it is.. when my attorney called them they continue to hang up on her.. when i called them and told them my attorney was contacting them they told me i was to poor to have an attorney...

these guys are crazy he said we got one six months ago we didnt even have a bank account then dont fall for it its a scam through and through

Got a call today saying hold on my address and social. Had my name, last four of social and address. Called back to a indian man named "Bob Cooper". He said I had taken a loan out and it was directed into my account and they filed fraudelent sui against me for not repaying.  When I replied back that no I had not taken any loan with anyone he started getting rude and telling me money was in my account.  After I said I wanted contact information for the company he said he would no longer call me and it was ok. When I told him my boyfriend (ex) works for the police department he said he was sorry and would not bother me again.

I told him I wanted to know who filed the complaint. All he kept saying was Advanced Loans. Said he had no contact information for them.  I asked him how could he work for a law firm and be placing holds on names and addressed but no way to contact the person who was making the claim. He hung up on me.


I would love to know who to contact cuz this is terrible to bother people like this. Get a real job!!

I don't know who these folks are. They are now calling my job. They called my cell several times and then when I told him I don't have no payday loan, he asked to have sex with me. Just keep calling my cell saying wrong and degrading things, then say call Bob Cooper. Get out of her really though....

I got a call at work for another person from this #.
I took the message then threw it away.
I hope they call back, I will definitely mess with them.
