I too got a call from these people. I could barely understand the guy his accent was so strong (Indian), The scary thing is that they ALREADY had my credit card number., I* callled and cancelled it immidiatly;. Citi says they had no promo. going like this, but did tell me that there are companies out there who will call your creditors on your behalf and get your interest rates lowered so ;perhaps it's not 100% a scam, but then again, I don't know the full details and I dont' know what happens if you go with these folks either. Could be big fees involved, who knows!  Buyer beware~!

The sting is when you call the bank together: I assume the third party on the line is genuine, but even if they aren't, the first thing they ask for is the last 4 of your social, and your mother's maiden name. At this point I told the bank rep that the call was about lowering my interest rate. At this point the scammer angrily told me I was not allowe3d to ask questions like that. Obviously the scammer would have asked the question, and got a negative response from my bank, but what does he care - he already has my security details, except I ruined the script.

After talking to "Jack" at "Credit Services"  (701-217-1003)(1-888-333-3857 ext.232), I got a phone call from Mark. I pay my two credit cards early, but when they passed the new law, they uped my 9.9%  to 17.9%. Mark Anderson said he could get the interest rates down where they should be. He said we would call the credit card companies together and he would talk for me as I answered their questions, after all he had the beginning digits of my credit cards. You have to understand, I have a Master's Degree, so I know better. I usually don't even answer the phone, but my family is in danger of foreclosure and bankruptcy. Mark said he was a financial analyst for a company called Logic Solutions in Phoenix, AZ at least that is where he charged his fee to my credit card. His call was made from New York, NY (646-666-6139) (1-888-270-0699 ext.616). I don't know about the money, I guess I'll have to get new cards, but he has all my personal info--what do I do?

Besides 646-666-6139 they also use 406-948-8001. Both numbers have people you can talk to
at 888-333-3857. .  They are  breaking the law by calling people on DNC as well as continuing to
call back when told not to. You might keep calling the 888 number and keeping them on the line
as they make no money talking to people who will not pay them.

There were two men tag-teaming us so I finally got them to say -- Mark Anderson and Adam Clark with Credit Card Services at 1-888-270-0699.  The caller identification number was StarNet 1-646-666-6139.   They informed me that my husband had agreed to letting them negotiate a lower rate for our credit card and that they would charge that same credit card $1,200.00 to do this.  This was the first time that my husband had heard this amount and was shocked.  I told both of them that we did not want their services.  We were not hiring them to negotiate anything on our behalf.  We were declining their services, and we were not paying their fee and to not charge anything to our credit card.   I was immediately told that I could not decline.  They had already negotiated 2% - 6% and that they would charge the card.  They claimed to have a confirmation number.  My husband stayed on the line with me and told them to cancel the transaction and give us a cancellation number.  They said, "he agreed by simply pressing 1 -- After that it was a done deal."  At one point, they tried to get me to think that my husband was agreeing, but when I asked him if he was still on the line, he wasn't there.  My husband told me that they were telling him that I was now agreeing to this even though he could no longer hear my voice.  We were now communicating on our cell phones together as well.  At that moment, we knew we were being coerced into something we did not want or asked for and hung up.  They called back.  Mr. Clark then took over the conversation and proceeded to tell me that I should be sending him cookies, sending him thank you notes, sending him smiles because he was going to save my credit.  He said that my company was going to cancel my card and increase my interest.  I tried several times to stop him because I was at work and was now feeling I was being harassed.  He kept trying to scare me into doing this, despite the fact I kept saying no and wanted to end the conversation.   I told him that I wanted to speak with my card company directly and he said that I could not do that.  I told him to give me some time to review my credit card status.  He told me I only had 13 minutes left on the clock and he would make the call, but that I was not allowed to say a word.  I told him I would not do that -- I wanted to tell the company that I was being forced to do this by this man and that I did not want to lose my card.  He told me that I would regret this day for the rest of my life.  To write this day and time down because I would regret this day.  He was charging my credit card for doing nothing and sending me to a collection agency.  My credit would be ruined.  I was now feeling threatened and my husband and I both hung up.

Of course, I immediately got off the phone and called my credit card company directly.  I spoke with Fraud/Security.  I explained the situation and answered all the appropriate security questions.  They suggested the best way to handle this was to cancel the card account and reissue a new account.  I agreed.  She said that she would indicate that the card was being closed due to "identity theft."

    Lee regarding 646-666-6139
Received a call from 406-478-2002  credit services a woman very nice but very hard to understand told me she was with Visa services and wanted to help me get a lower rate on my credit cards specifically my Chase Cards.  I told her I didn't think I qualified because of several late payments in the last 6 months although the account was up to date.  She insisted that Credit Services could get my interest rate to 6%  for life and if I agreed someone would call me in 45 minutes which they did from the 646-666-6139 NY number.  After that it was a ping pong game everythime my husband and I said no we were shuffled back and forth between agent an Andre Sanchez and his supervisors/managers a Mark and Adam we even got as far as the 1st call to Chase where a Tony verified my information with just mothers maiden name and confirmed  he was indeed chase by answering questions on the accounts (so this was a ligit call) after that the Chase agent provided information such as balance, amount credit left on card, interest rate, min monthly payment and no the card was not eligible for an interest rate reduction to Andre's questions then at this time Andre ends the call.  He then tells me I have to talk to the bank myself he cannot do the talking  but he will tell me what to say. He wanted me to say I had reduced hrs that we used up all our savings,   At this point again both my husband and I said we wanted to stop it there and not proceed.  We were immediately transfered to a manager (second time) name I can't recall but could have been Mark who when we told him spare us all the stats and percentages just cancel any transaction for the 991.00 fee. They again started to give us the run around and I hung up.  They called back and said they wanted to refund our money  but  nothing had been chanrged.  They kept circling the drain and when I finally said in a hoarse loud voice since I have the flu we have repeatly asked you to stop and not proceed but you have ignored  our request they returned with you authorized our fee to be charged to you credit card we have it on tape( that was only if they susceeded in getting the 6% or lower).  We will turn you over to our collection agency. Note the terms changed through out the phone call first it was 6% for life so even if we paid off our credit cards within the next few months we would have a card at 6% then we were told that if they could get the 6% it would only be for 5 yrs.  The last manager came on with a real attitude and was threatening us, we hung up and called Chase immedately spoke to the fraud department closed those accounts and changed all passwords. What I learned was we should have disconnected the first call right then and there and call our credit card company because someone had information they should not have had. The upshot was the 2 hrs on and off the phone with these scam artists was 2 hrs they couldn't be calling someone else.
