Left a message saying they were IRS investigation department.  Called back.  A "Paul White" answered.  Did not sound like the IRS...I hung up.  Creepy.

Said they were from IRS when I called back and said I wanted more info - was told to go to hell -THIS IS A SCAM

Received two calls from this number within two hours, claiming to be from the IRS.

Received 2 calls from this number, indicated they would be taking legal actions.

Robocall message begins with "The nature of this call is to inform you of a a law suit that has been filed on your name... so before we go with legal matter and send this case to the local county court house...

Called 3 days in a row. First couple of calls were human voice claiming to be IRS Investigative Dept.
Then changed tactics and use a mechanical voice unit to disguise himself and advised That A Law Suit was about to be filed against me and he wanted money to stop the suit from being filed'

After reading others postings it's very much a scam. I always leave my phone to voicemail and had gotten this call twice in 3 hours. I thought it was for my brother-in-law because he owes alot of debt to people and thought someone might be seeking legal action but they cannot find him and on occasion we get called about his problems. So will ignore due to the bogus nature of these calls.

This is a law suit against you, so before we file in Galveston County court house, you must cal 6467605418  I got 7 calls.  The last one i picked up and hung up on the call.

I just got this one today as well.  Happens to me about once a month with a new number.  The simplest thing to do is locate the owner of the phone number, i.e. the Telco, with this web site.  https://www.telcodata.us/search-area-code-exc ... 23&exchange=729.  In this case it is "BROADVOX LLC" out of NY.  Then go to that website and find their fraud reporting number/email.  In this case, abuse@broadvox.com, and tell them your story and try to get them to disconnect the number.

I did this today via email, I am also going to try by phone.

And, of course, the other thing you can do is call the number all the time (I call this number about 30 times a day while I'm not doing anything;) ), and try ones best to play along/disrupt their service/take up their time.

Anyway, good luck and please try to be proactive in useful ways against people like this.  We cannot count on IRS/FCC to do it for us.

So "quit whining" about it and do something!

Hey... good news... I just got the phone number suspended!  All I had to do was follow my own advice above.   I did call the fraud number of the telco which owned the line (as found using the aforementioned web site https://www.telcodata.us/search-area-code-exc ... 23&exchange=729) I called that owning company, spoke directly with a nice man, and in a matter of about 20 minutes, we were able to shutdown the number...

So moral of the story, be active, you can do it!
