Says from IRS. And call them back. Had many calls today.

Says he is officer Foster

left message that he is a NY police officer named eric foster, said if i dont call back "it will be on my head" what a scam! dont call back!

Officer Eric Foster called me today 10/28/14 saying something very bad would happen if I don't call back... so of course what did I do? I of course called back.. once i questioned his identity, he told me he works for Osama Bin Laden and that my phone is set to blow up in 5 minutes "starting....now".  I actually found myself in a panic trying to figure out where I can ditch my phone...then I realized, this nut freakin case was trying to terrorize me... problem is? He know my name!  What else do these people know.. I could hear many people chattering in the background of where ever he was calling from.. he was not American.

Had 2 calls on 10/28/14 saying he was Officer Eric Foster and that I or my attorney needed to call him back or bad things would happen to me as it unfolds.  It was a very weird computer sounding foreign voice.  I did not call back.

Same problem as all these prior posts.  He is not from the IRS.  It's a scam!

I received a computer generated call from Officer Eric Foster stating that he was from the IRS, and that I or my attorney needed to give him a call back.  Needless to say he will not be getting a return phone call.  

Same as most here. Called, provided name of Eric Foster from the IRS. Just a robotic voice, quickly reading off a number to call back. Wished me luck, etc.

I got a similar call from an 866 number last week from a very aggressive Fernando Ortiz also indicating he was from the IRS. This was an actual person I was having dialogue with.

These are similar scams to try and get money in a direct method to avoid prosecution. The IRS, Police, etc. don't just call you and threaten you. These scammers have an odd understanding of the sort of situations they're attempting to scam.

Anyhow it's always worth checking to make sure your identity hasn't been compromised, as they often have personal details (name, address, even last 4 of SS#) but they often don't have more pertinent details. If they did, they wouldn't be calling you to scam you, they'd be doing it quietly. Plus it's worth noting a lot of information like name and address are readily available online (call registries, Facebook, Google, etc.) so don't sweat it too much. Ensure you use 2-factor authentication when possible on bank accounts and other online accounts to protect yourself.

Got this call twice now, both times left voice mails saying that if I don't return his call all he can do is wish good luck and something else I couldn't understand.  I don't plan to return the call.

I called back and told him I'd activated a signal by calling him that would cause his phone to blow up in five minutes. Silence and then he hung up on me. How rude. LOL

Keep receiving similar calls, with threats that something bad will happen.
Contacted the local authorities and charges can be placed..

I received the same threats, blocked the number and a few days later they call again from a new number. I'm on the "do not call list" so I am a bit confused as to what else to do.

+1 here ...f$%king moron can't speak a lick of English. I threatened him and he promptly hung up.
