Another computer virus scam. called at 7:30 AM

Woman with heavy accent told me my computer was bad and needed to have un necessary files removed.I told her I have Geek for that and she says Geek can't fix this and she would let me talk with someone who could.I am sure this was an attempt to get info off my computer like banking info.I couldn't understand her thick accent-I think it was jamaican but not sure.Call probably redirected somewhere else.TOld her I have no prob with my computer so how did she know I did? I received a second call from this number today, August 17, 2015. (646-801-6543). They claimed there was something wrong with my computer. When I asked which one, he could only respond, "The main computer". He had a very thick accent and at times sounded like he was slurring his words or having trouble reading his prompt cards, lol. What he didn't know is that I work in software so when I started asking him questions he eventually got flustered and went silent. I asked him if he knew where his ctrl and esc buttons were. He said yes, I told him to press them and asked him to open his command promt and type ipconfig /all and read me what it said on the screen. he stuttered and fell silent again. I told him to take me off of his scam list and that I'd be supporting him to my security team and then hung up. If you try to call back, you get an error, can not complete your call. Too bad...

They called again! This is a total scam but why not have a little fun right? The guy actually stayed on the phone with me while I messed with him and almost gave me his IP address. I gave a convincing story of how I needed it to make sure it was him dialing into my computer as others had tried to and that was where i thought I was having my technical issues from. I thought I heard someone tell him "no!" That was when he told me he couldn't. Hilarious! I hope they call back. This is the most fun I've had all day! Maybe I'll get lucky and one of them will give me the IP or DNS and I can turn that in and they (whomever handles this stuff) can trace them and shut them down. I feel really sorry for the people that fall for this. Its too bad these people prey on others.

Scam to fix computer 2 call so far today

"I'm calling about a problem with your Windows.  How are you today?"  The number was 1-646-801-6543  Man with a thick Indian accent.  When I told him to take me off his list and never call me again, he said, "I want to dance with you."  I swore at him and hung up.

Unfortunately this is an overseas scam which makes it almost impossible to take action.

"Windows Technical Support" ... caller could barely pronounce what he was reading. I said, "OH, you ARE, are you!!" ... caller made a choking noise and hung up.

Maybe we can ridicule them out of business?

Similar experience to those below - "When you turned your computer on I could see you had a problem". I just listened and responded in general terms to waste his time. When I'd had enough I told him he was full of baloney and hung up. Don't know why I picked up - usually don't - but I guess I just felt like giving someone a hard time. You really need to list 'SCAM' as a call type in the box below! None of the other choices fit this kind of call.

SCAM SCAM SCAM!! I have received 24 calls from them and NEVER do they stay online long enough to speak with someone.. I tried to call back and, of course, your call cannot be completed. I am turning off my landline as I have more correspondence with Telemarketing scamsters then with the folks I wish to speak and that I WILL NOT PAY FOR!!

Calls are rampant from scammers!  Another call today at 8:07A from 646-801-6543 Unknown Name.  Need to fix our computer.  WHY doesn't the government do anything when you are on the DO-NOT-CALL list?  It must be an "honor" system if legitimate companies want to check it before calling people and obviously "there is no honor among thieves" as they say so scammers are NOT going to check the list!

I have received two of these calls in the last week . Same description as the above complaints. Person had a heavy  accent, male voice, said I had trouble on my computer.
First time I just hung up
This time (8/17 at 5:22 P M) I said I know this is a scam and don't call me again.
It was also from the same number,0116468016543.

The guy on the other end of phone talking with a very different accent told me I had a problem with my computer and I told him I did have any problems with my computer and  hung up on him! I am sure it was a SCAM!!!!!

You're sure right there! You have NO problems with your computer, but if you would have fallen for the AH's line of crap, you would have had BIG problems with your computer!

Same number called this time at 7:29 AM!  What  a JERK!  Male thick foreign accent.

A call yesterday and one this morning, from this number.  I do not answer unknown numbers and of course when went to voice mail they hung up.  Thinking if that number calls again I will hold the phone near the toilet and flush!!!

Same story as the others except that they called me at 7:17 a.m. when I was fast asleep.  Then they asked me if I was at my computer.  I said, no, I was asleep.  Then I hung up on them.  I guess they don't have clocks in India so they don't know that they're calling so early -- or they don't care.  Probably the latter.

Multiple calls from this number alerting me to computer anomalies and directing me to correct them by following instructions from a foreign speaking male insisting my computer would crash if I refused to do as I was told. When I advised him that I knew he, his company and it's message was fraudulent and I demanded to be removed from his call list he told me to "go to hell". My attempte to call him back were stymied by a recorded message advising me to try "later".

I have reported these calls to my ISP/Cable company as well as the FTC. I get up to 10 a week! I've told them to stop calling and they refuse. They keep calling and calling. This is definitely a scam so don't answer or don't give them any information. File complaints from this number to the FTC if they refuse to stop calling you. They just called me again and I ignored the call. I'm about ready to notify my local authority to see if they can get these individuals to stop calling my house.

This number refuses to stop calling. They all me up to 10 times a week! I've tried blocking their number, alerting my internet provider/cable as they are the same company, filed a complaint with the FTC about this yesterday after 10 calls right after the other. They have been repeatedly told to stop calling and they won't. They keep demanding I give them access to my computers (which I don't own a computer-let alone 6) and my bank account (which I don't have one of these either) so they can "fix" my computers. I use a laptop or a tablet-NOT a computer. I want these people to leave me alone!
