Yes, it's a scam. The IRS will never call you, they will contact you by mail. They will also not threaten you with arrest nor demand payment over the phone via iTunes or other gift card. Just block and ignore these calls.

    IRS Scam:

The IRS does not need to sue anyone.  They also do not bother arresting people for a few thousand dollars.  They don’t send the local police or Sheriff to arrest you.  Everything they do is done either administratively or using Federal Agents.   They don’t call you up and demand immediate payment. If you are going to be arrested, they don’t call you up to warn you.  They only issue arrest warrants for people who are really bad actors and have tried to stick them for very large amounts of money, not a few hundred or thousand.  Administratively, they send you first class letters delivered by the Post Office.  Several of them.  Ignore those, and they then send certified letters that you need to sign for.  Again delivered by the Post Office.  Ignore those and they simply freeze your bank accounts and anything else you own.  If they can do that, then why would they bother with a court case that might take them years before they get in front of a judge?  The IRS does not accept payment in Itunes Cards, Amazon gift cards, or any other type of payment other than cash, check, credit or debit card (from normal everyday citizens).

I was called and the man who sounds as robot voice left a message stating that the IRS has a warrant against me because of an outstanding case for revenues I owe to the IRS. I have heard of many people who receive these types of scam calls even in social media there are warnings and recordings of calls scamming people saying the IRS had a warrant for their arrest if they didn't pay them what is owed. I work in the same building where the IRS have their FL office and believe me they will not call you if anything they will send a letter notifying of what they need in order to either audit or to get certain items clarified. So no I will not fall for this but it does bother to be constantly called.

Recv'd call this morning.  Didn't answer, but called back.  The guy was furious that I wouldn't give him my name/ph number.  I knew its a scam but wanted to piss him off.  I told him that he called me and that they should have my ph number associated with "something".  I told him the IRS doesn't make phone calls and requested my number be removed from their list.  He said, "fine, we will pursue this another way then".  What a waste of human skin!!

I received several calls from this number (646-809-9672) along with 000000000000, once I blocked this number (646-809-9672).  They asked me if I was from Los Angeles & then I told them no & then they asked if I was Ms. Mitchell and I told them no.  Then they asked me if I was Ms. Taylor and I told them that I was and then I asked them why did they ask if I was from Los Angeles and they said that they were accidentally looking at the the wrong person on the screen.
They also threatened me with an arrest warrant and stated that I'm wanted for tax evasion.  I asked them, "What tax evasion?"  They said, "We will be seizing all of your personal property to recover what you owe?"  Then I hung up on them.

The caller claimed to be from the IRS, stated that I was under criminal investigation and was being watched and monitored and that I must call them at 646-809-9672 or face arrest and prison.  It is, or course, a scam and is not the IRS.  The IRS does not make such calls.  If they wanted to communicate something like this, they would do it only by certified mail.
