someone from phone # 646 867-5791 called saying they were from Windows Tech Support and started asking for lots of information (name, address, email address, etc) and left this phone # to call back.

I just received a call from 646-867-5791, the caller identified himself as Miya Chudao and said he was calling from microsoft Windows Tech Support and that I had a serious virus on my computer. Further my computer was going to crash at any minute and he offered to help me solve the problem. He advised me to sit in front of my computer and he would walk me through the process of getting rid of my virus. I refused and hung up.

Got the same call, referenced the same # as being Microsoft Technical Support.  The caller was South Asian and had a very thick accent.  He was reading from a script and you could hear the phone bank behind him.  He identified 646-867-5791 as being "Microsoft Customer Care."  It seemed too fishy so I ended the call

same i got the call from a men identified him self as a zedane smith from windows tech support,i smell something like fishy so i was going to hang up the call but later he requested me to switch on my computer and to show me my problems i was bit careful and just switched on my windows 7 pc and i was quit careful while he's step's but later on i was aghast to see all those corrupted software's in my pc,later on he helped me out to get rid of them...it's sounds fishy firstly but later on he was me perception changed!!

i got the same call,he left out this number to call back,and when i did i found windows technical support their..

I got a similiar call from (646) 867-5791 offering to assist me with problems on my PC.  I asked where he was calling from and he said Microsoft Windows Support.  I hung up and did an on-line chat with Microsoft and they confirmed that this was a bogus callerr.

Received call from (646) 867-5791 on 4/22/2013.Claimed to be Microsoft technical support.  Used www.teamviewer(legit site for networking) to control computer and show me supposed "corrupted files." (These are just a record anything that is trying to infiltrate your computer, which is stopped by anti virus software and a firewall.)  He said my software licenses with Microsoft expired 4 days ago and my computer was going to crash in a soon as 15 minutes. Took my computer to site for"Global IT technologies" noting "gold Microsoft partner" and saying they were that company.  Suspiciousness esclalated when "Sam" wanted me to choose 3 or 5 year plan to ';take care" of my computer and restore the software to an uncorrupted state. Asked why Microsoft wouldn't have e-mailed me of this need.  He said they could'nt contact all users.  Took my computer to Pay Pal site, which I don't have,  for payment as he said it was a "secure site." When several attempts at his getting on my supposed Pay Pal didn't work (I had given name, phone #, and e-mail), I cut the control of my computer and he hung up. I e-mailed Global IT Technologies and confirmed through Microsoft virtual assist that it was a common scam. Computer is fine!
