Received text messages wanting to buy and item I had on Craigslist.  Wanted to use PayPal and ship it to and invalid address in Montgomery, AL.

My husband just received the same type of message from this person. What all happened. He said he would send it once payment was made in full. But we have been sketchy about it, but if we have the payment I don't really understand what could happen.

Did the same thing to us from a listing on craigslist.  We live in Illinois and wanted to use Paypal and then ship item.  I'm sure its scam, and money would have been taken back out of Paypal

Got me too!  He bought a playstation 3 off craigslist and I got  PHONEY paypal email that said the money was in the account but due to new fraud protection, a shipment to the buyers address must be verified.  We shipped the item to the address in Maryland only to discover that the paypal email was a fraud.  FedEx did not deliver the package because the address was phoney as well.  Somebody went through a lot of trouble to jack with people.    
Words of Advice:  If you are to recieve a paypal payment and it's on hold for any reason, do not ship anything until you contact the Paypal company personally to verify they actually have a record of the payment.

I received numerous texts from this number to please accept their payment via paypal as they need the item urgently as a gift for someone. It was for an item posted on kijiji.

Same garbage as others have seen. Some person trying to buy something being sold on Craigslist using paypal. Asked for the details, then the paypal address. I just replied with "spoof@paypal.com." I hope he emails them soon.
