- gargamilJust received a call from this number. Didn't give a name or ask for anyone, just started talking about a law firm that is gonna file on whoever. I hung up. The number is out of New York, but that doesn't mean anything. Foreign accent just scamming.
- Fed up| 1 replyReceived a call almost everyday for a week. Yesterday they left a message saying I was getting used for using a fraudulent check and they were filing criminal charges against me for a loan I took out and paid. They had almost all my info the last four of my account number for my loan account. I hung up and called the loan place and he informed me that I was in good standing and this call was a SCAM!! He sent me a link to the FBI to file a report. I also called my bank to set up some security measures!!!

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.- Caller: Informational Post

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection - Lori AnneKeep getting calls from this number. Three calls within 15 minutes. Answered the last one to tell them to stop calling. My son is in the hospital and I have asked for them to stop calling. They told me they were coming to the hospital to arrest me for check fraud. Called local sheriff office and was told this is a scam and not to worry. I have my plate full with my son and don't need the added stress. I blocked the call but later got a call from caller ID unknown

- E SantosIts unbelievable that we get scammed like this. They have been calling me from 646-937-9967 for weeks and they finally left a message saying that they were concern for my safety and that legal actions were going to be filled against me for check fraud and for not paying my loan back. I told them to go ahead and file the charges and that I will contact my lawyer. 2 days later they call again with the same line, seems like the first one didn't tell the others I would not pay them. Smh, this is embarrassing, taking advantage of us and harassing us since we don't knoe the law to a T.
- Bruce FlorackThis company calls 3 times a week to tell me that i have a warrant against me. Obvious wrong number. Foreign accent. I have finally blocked the number at my phone.
