Just received one.

I have had many calls.  They say they are calling from Reliance Protectron Home Security.  I asked for a number where I could contact them and they gave me a number for Future Shop.  The guy I talked to said his name was Shawn Conner.

Everyday they call and i have no idea who they are.

Called asking to speak to the owner of the house, when I told them that person. Wasn't available proceeded to ask if I had an alarm system in my house. I declined to answer, but he kept repeating the same question so I hung up. English was not his first language, he was extremely difficult to understand

getting sick of harrassing calls from people i cant understand wanting to know if i have a security system. when i say yes i do and they ask who its with and if its monitored i tell them its none of their business and they say why isnt it. called police to report phone #.

I had them call for the first time today.
They said they were Local Home Security Alarms.

The caller first introduced himself as Fifa? But later stated his name was Jeff.
New my phone, address, and first initial and last name (phone book or 411.ca)

I knew from there that they were fraudulent so I started playing and was on the phone with them for 15-20 minutes while I had the BBQ going.

-They have 7 monitoring stations in Canada with Mississauga being the largest.
-Canadian Company
-Floor Supervisor was Sean Conner (same guy as Jeff, didn't really event attempt to change his voice)
-Willing to cut ANY deals including a 15 year monitoring contract for $10.00 a month (HAHAHA)
-Willing to accept cash upfront for 15 year contract

He kept prying to know which system I currently had which I didn't provide and whether the basement was finished or unfinished (wired or wireless systems my ***.)

I would suggest ignoring them and not providing any information. Also ensure your basement windows are locked haha.

Just had him call me. English was not his first language and he asked for a Mr & Mrs "something-or-other"   I told him he had the wrong number and just hung up.  He called my cell phone number, so I am assuming it was a misdial as my number is not even listed.

Good to know that this number should not be answered.  Its now on my "Do not answer" list.

Called multiple times in a week

For the first call I was genuinely interested in what he had to say, but only until he became persistent in knowing the security features of my home

Told them to not call back but they then continued to do so later on in the week

Asked the same question

Called earlier today and I heard his voice and just hung up

Really annoying.

If you registered with the Do Not Call list, pls file a complaint and they will be fined thus freeing us all from continous harrasement. The caller is also very rude. File your complaint here ->

Do not even complain to Bell or Rogers, just call and cancel your telephone service with them.  They will then decide to do something about these really annoying calls.

Got a call from them today. The original person said his name was Robinson Chris and he was from Canadian Home Security Alarm Services. When I asked him to give me a address he said they were located in Victoria B.C. When I asked him to give me a number, he passed me to another guy who said his name was Shawn Conner. When I asked Shawn where they were located, he said they were from Brampton, ON. When I pointed out the contradiction, he tried to make up an excuse and then hung up.

had a call too, this guy won't give up !! I just stopped answering... it's just a scam.

Dont forget to compain to the CRTC....I did.

Some Indian dude on the phone. Now the question you have to ask yourself is:
Is this some good Samaritan Indian guy, Mr. white hat, trying to point out security flaws OR
Is this some Indian criminal re-conning his next home invasion victim?

The smart thing to do is probably not to tell them what alarm system you have.

btw no one checks back on these things for follow ups so we have no idea if any of the previous posters got robbed or kidnapped like that Chinese real estate agent and his client. One of them got killed recently.

I was almost mugged (I technically had a speed advantage) last week so I'm taking personal safety seriously.

they called again 9 days later, number looked familiar so I didn't up, was trying to look number first but they hung up. This time caller ID says unknown number.

Called, heavy accent, mumbling about a security system.  I told him to learn English and get a job as a janitor or cab driver.

This man was so rude!!!! He actually said: "F..Off" and hung up!! A complete NUT!!!!!
