Just wanting to know...... what exactly? How a phone works perhaps? Maybe why someone would even call you? Please clarify! These fragment sentences are driving me nuts!

647-297-8903 just got a call from this number 2 times already.  It is regarding your credit card number, bla bla bla. This number is a cell phone in Toronto, Ontario.  I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL REGISTRY IN CANADA??

Received a call from this number.  It is a company called "Global Services" and they are trying to scam people into consolidating credit card debt.

It was a recorded message," hello this is Rachael from card holder services, there is no problem with your current credit card accounts but we would like to offer you...." (i hung up at this point)

Just called. Phone back rang busy. Phoned back due to techincal difficulties they could not route call. Tried again but it is all busy signal. Scam for sure.

I received this call... partway through the recording I entered 0, so I could ask to be taken off the list if they were a legitmate caller.  The person who answered (promptly) gave their name and Global services very quickly and finished with asking for my name.  

This is a very important pont in a telemarketer's or scammer's call.  At that brief moment, you are in control!  Don't give your name, rather ask them to give their name and company name again. ie, Sorry, I didn't get your name, the TV's too loud.  (write it down)  Then, and what company are you calling from?  (write)  Oh, where is that? A legitimate company will answer the questions, and give you the rep's ID number.  Once you are satisfied that the caller and company are legitimate, ask to be put on the do not call list for this and any other reason for calling because you NEVER buy anything over the phone.

It is important to remember that  as long as you are asking and they are anwering, you are in control.  Ask for a ph. # to call then back if you get disconnected, you've been having problems.  Ask for their address, company's full legal name, anything else you can think of.  A scammer will almost certainly hang up long before this, however, you can keep going. Only once have I reached the point of asking about the weather where they are.

Any scammer I have ever given this treatment to has ever called back.

After I got the call from these scammers, I went to the CRTC website for the do not call list and registered a complaint. If you are on the list, don't forget to put in a complaint everytime these [***] call. It's great fun to vent on web sites like this one, but if you want to do something useful (and you are on the CRTC do not call list) then take advantage of it and send in your complaint.

I got a call from them tonight and when they asked for my name I asked for theirs?  They said Global Services and I asked them if that was the name of the credit card and they hung up.  I will definately be visiting the CRTC website also.........thanks for the info.

The call display said, "Blocked Call".  However, it stayed on long enough to go to voice mail.   Pressing 5 on voice mail gave this telephone number.  I then checked this page.  Thanks for the info.  Another scammer.

These people are rude on the phone and they are harrassing.  They keep calling your number even when you request that they don't.  How do you stop these companies from harassing people on the phone?  I would like to know how they get your credit card information?  isn't this confedtional information?

Just called this # back and it said that this # is not assighned to Please Check The # Again

They probably don't have your CC number. They are fishing for it. If you believe their spiel you will give them your CC number(s) and then they have you.

Aug 14....just got the call....they hung up...I thought it was relatives in Tronna..............NOT!!!!
