For all you renters out there i'm telling you right now be extra careful who you try to rent off of. I got a text through my phone from a derek maxwell and he said he has a place in Calgary, Alberta and sent me pictures of this empty house well turns out he didn't now I already live in Calgary, Alberta and drove by the place and dosen't match the pictures at all and there's someone living there. He also tried to get me to send him $2300.00 before he show me the house.LOL If you get a tex from Derek and the # is 1-647-701-9016 please report this guy like I did. He's gonna burn some budy sooner or later. Unless he's stopped. Thanks For Reading And Thanks But NO THANKS DEREK.

This guy tried renting a place to me threw email. It seemed to be to good and the emails he was sending didn't seem to add up. He wanted 2800 western union transfer before he even let us view it. C'mon really? Lol his name was rob though and said he had a wife. Complete dbag. So the pic of his house didn't match up to any on the street because he wouldn't give the address.Stay away complete fraud

i posted an add on kijiji trying to find a new place and i recieved a text about a place and to send an email so i could get pics. i thought it was wierd but i did it. i recieved pics of a beautiful home in a rich part of town and he was only asking 650 everything included... i didnt believe it so i first googled the house which was completely different then the pics he sent and then googled his number and found this page.. he insisted that we send money to a friend or family member through westren union or walmart that way i still have my money but he knows we can pay him and just send him the reciept then give him the money when we get the keys. not sure if he can use the reciept to get the money but something wierd is going on!!! thanks all for reporting him... were printing the emails and takeing it to the rcmp!!!

Oh Well, We just moved here from South Africa, I also placed a add on Kijiji.ca looking for a house to rent.
"Rob" sms me and then emailed me. Sending pictures off a house in Labrador City. We exchanged a few emails and phone calls, all seemed right at that moment.Same story as K&W but unfortunately I fell for it and payed the money. Now he's gone and I don't here back from him.

Same as above. I posted on Kijiji looking for house in Ft. Mcmurray. He responded by text asking questions that could be answered by reading my ad. (1st red flag!) He also states he has a gorgeous house and to respond to him by email "ONLY" so he can send pix. (second red flag). Decided to google his number and here we are! Thanx to those that have raised awareness of this slime ball.
No need to reply to his text now! Cheers.

Yea the guy tried to do the same thing to me on kijiji saying he had a house in regina, I google maped the outside of the house and the windows didnt match up at all glad i found this site. Guy is a total little [***]

Did you report this loss to the police or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre?  If not, probably should have.

Same story as everyone here. My sister-in-law had an add posted on Kijiji looking for a rental property and ROB NELSON and his wife KATE contacted her via txt msg, but had their number blocked. They continued communication via e-mail. I read all of them, they provided a real address for the house and said that all utilities and internet were included in the rent, and they actually DEMANDED that she send $2700 (rent and deposit) ONLY through Western Union to a friend or family member and then scan a copy of the reciept to them as proof because they supposedly lived 3 hrs away and were not willing to do the drive only to find out she was not serious. They assured her that the fees incurred for the transfer would be taken out of the rent. They also requested that the money not be collected till after they met. This was for a house in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The pictures they e-mailed and the actual house did not match. As soon as I read the e-mails, I Googled their e-mail address (robnelson@yahoo.ca) and found this site and phone number (which conveniently has an Ontario area code). When I googled the phone number, I found even more similar posts. Thank God we collected the money right away and so she is now out the $150 it cost for the Western Union transfer. IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, THEN IT PROBABLY IS!

he said his name was rob nelson and he had a wife kate he emailed me after i answered his text i got a address and pix and google maped it and sure enough it didnt match up he is scum but now he is asking for me to send MY FRIEND or Family member MONEY thru WESTERN UNION and send him a copy of receipt  so he knows the money is there he said i dont have to give him money till i have the keys but i thought it was weird that he said not to bother the ppl that live there and he said they lived 3 hours away but his number was ontario which is alot more than a 3 hour drive away LOL im sooooo happy i googled his number thank you everyone

I l have been contacted TWICE through this exact phone number, the first time he said to email jonesapart@yahoo.ca, the second time robnelson@yahoo.ca. the first time i didnt know better and emailed him, but as soon as i heard "western union money transfer" i knew it was a crock of [***]. Both times they were for an ad i had posted on kijiji about house rental. I hate scumbags like this.

Same thing here, said his name was Rob. But I assure you he will be caught. I have a lawyer and we are going to sue western union if they don't produce surveillance to the police. He will be caught, anyone who has been a victim of him, contact me through my email as I will need all of his fake emails and any sort of transfer he tried to [***] you with. Western Union and RIA are his ONLY means of getting your money.

Kijiji is where he stays constantly. We should be able to contact the website and post a warning about him by now..

Who ever you make the transfer to could collect the money back at any western union outlet around on the viewing day or after the viewing day because this gives full assurance that money wasn't borrowed and collected back right there when it was transferred.
