I was told this number is from Microsoft Customer Care.   Just want to verify.  Please and thank you.

Ya, that what I got, but I don't think it is because Microsoft does not do these types of calls, and I got 3 in the past 2 days by them

i talked to microsoft and they this was a scam... microsoft said they will never contact you unless you've contacted them first, microsoft said never follow any of the steps the scammers give you...

I have just received a call from "Kevin Wright" (speaking with a strong Asian accent) of "Microsoft Operating Systems" in "Clearwater, Florida."  There was no data shown on the call display but I demanded he give me the number he was calling from and he said it was 647 722 8845.  He had a preposterous story that they were the official service company for Microsoft and that messages were received from an operating system with my "ID" that it had problems that needed fixing and he was calling to fix those problems.  It was a "free" service because I was a "registered customer."  How stupid do these people think we are? However, the gullible are out there and get snagged.  The area code 647 is not Clearwater, Florida, it is Scarborough, Ontario.  My telephone number is on the Canadian Do Not Call list and I shall be reporting this.  Don't drop your guard at any time.

Yes, my father received a call from Ryan Jefferson (with a strong middle eastern accent).  The Caller ID reportted 000-000-0000 but the number that was given to call was the above stated. My father is 81 years old and very inexperienced with computers but told them I (his son) would contact them. Definitely a scam.

Thanks for the information!! I just got a call from a "Kevin Wright" claiming to be from a Microsoft Branch in Salt Lake City. He stated that we had a problem with our computer, which could be fixed by following his instructions. The caller ID was 000-000-0000, but when we asked for a callback number, the number he gave us was 647-722-8845. Again, he was speaking with a strong accent as well, and didn't seem to immediately understand what we were saying.
Thank you to everyone who contributed information. I didn't know whether he was trying to fool us or not, but after searching up his number, I realized that this was not a real call from Microsoft. Thanks for all your help.

We got a call this morning and I was amazed Microsoft would call me, 000 000 0000 was on the call display and they said they were calling from Toronto, didn't get their number, looked it up on the internet and saw it was a scam.  They were really trying to convince me I had malware that was reported to Microsoft.  I am in BC, Canada.
