Global? Pretty sure it's a collection agency...I called back with gmail phone.

The previous commenter, Bill Smith, is probably correct about it being Global.  They have been harassing me for 9 months over something I refuse to pay because I don't agree I owe that money.  They just recently started harassing me using this new phone number.  I don't answer.

I get calls from this # and I don't owe any money to anyone. Always pay cash. But they just keep on calling. It is a magic jack # i have from another town.
I also seem to get alot of calls that start with " a message in english will follow" i just hang up;

Same thing... they call during working hours without caller ID and don't leave any mssg ... ???

I have told this collection agency that the person they are looking for is not at this number and they continue to call.  How can I stop this.

I received a call from these jerks about an hour ago; They wanted to speak to my husband.  When I asked where they were calling from they refused to tell me.  She was SO rude.  I understand confidentiality with financial/ collection matters, but they called MY house!  You need to identify yourself and where you're calling from if you want me to have my husband call you back.  We do not owe anyone money; we just bought a house and I saw both of our credit reports less than a month a go!

As of this writing your chance to obatain validation passed nine months ago. If you've managed to avoid getting sued, you can still raise a dispute, since you have one, on paper and send it USPS Certified with return card. The same letter can state that phone calls are inconvenient. You'll either have more peace at home or a cause of legal action of your own, depending on how the agency reacts. Either way it's wise to establish your dispute in print.

Legally you cannot be given more than a business name unless your spouse is the alleged debtor. Even then most agencies keep mum to avoid any chance of a lawsuit for breach of privacy.

Those of you taking calls looking for other people should be aware that high volume debt collectors are notoriously deaf to verbal requests. Third parties to the alleged debtor like yourself don't get a lot of coverage by FDCPA, but it does say ''any person'' cannot be abused or misled by a collector.

To a ''not me'' case I always recommend putting the agency on notice, just as you would if you were the target and the debt claim was invalid. Send a cease-comm notice via USPS Certified with return card. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain how to draft one. This will set a legal landmine, as such a notice is ignored at their peril.

Started getting calls last week from 18773301815.   I blocked that number on my phone, now they are calling from16477241032.  I answered the phone and got "An english message will follow".   I listened to them speak in French and when a voice said "someone will be with you shortly" I'm thinking this sounds familiar so I hung up on them, blocked that number and decided to vent here  Further more they called at 7:47pm which is illegal if they are a collection agency.  If they switch numbers again, I will be calling the police

How do we get rid of these people? They keep calling and hanging up. I am not overdue on a single bill, there is no way I have an actual credit problem.

My name is not Shawn and I only got this number a couple of months ago. Have asked them to stop calling as this is not his number anymore. They still call!!!

automated message keeps says english will follow, then hangs up when it is connected...

They are calling my work number.
I'm not too likely to stay on the line and wait for someone, especially when their automated recording doesn't tell me where/what company it is calling from.

Now you just let them know that your number is a real and they sell this information to telemarketer upto $1.25 for every real phone number they can confirm. If they get your name or other information, then it worth even more to people who specializes in identity theft.

Have received innumerable calls from this number.  Same message every time - English message will follow.  When I waited (decided to try it at about call 8) I got a dial tone.  I called Bell and they couldn't do a thing.  They suggested using the Call Block feature on our phone.  Tried 3 times but the system would not accept this number for blocking!  Answer was……"this number is not available for this service".  So much for that option.

I called the number back and blasted the person on the other end - who denied making the call and told me that the 647 724-1032 was not his number.  I asked him if this wasn't his number why did it show up on my caller ID.  The reply was that someone was using his number to call through to me from another number.  Bell could not tell me if this was technically possible or not.  This last from the technical department!!!!  Would love to track this down and show up in person.  Does anyone else have any clues?

They just called me today.  I didn't answer as I do not know anyone with this area code.  Decided to look the number up and came accross this site.  I do remember about 5 months ago they did call me and he was very rude and threatened my credit if I did not give them my credit card number to clear this bill immediately.  Not sure how they got my name & where I lived 15 years ago but they never called me back as I would not give it to them.  FRAUD is right!!  If it was from 15 years ago it would have been on my credit already!  I have a clean record and plan on keeping it that way.  
BE CAREFUL AND DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFO!
