Call came this morning from "Miguel" asking for Brad. I began by asking what company he worked for. Sounds like "Miguel" hung up. I called back later from a different number. Spoke with "Miguel" again. He answered the phone, "Bell." I confirmed that he meant "Bell Canada" and said his number appeared on my call display. "Miguel" said he had misdialed. I told him that I was calling from a different number than the one he had called previously. "Miguel" said that was a misdial as well: he'd been using the wrong list, he said.

I asked "Miguel" if he worked for Bell, or for a 3rd party company contracted by Bell. He said it was a 3rd party company. I asked him three times to identify the company, and each time he said that it was against company policy to identify themselves. I am now awaiting a call from "Miguel's" supervisor, who was in an important meeting at the time of our discusssion.

I have attempted to report this incident to Bell Canada. At first I called, and Jay, the customer service agent, took my name address and phone number "to verify the call." He then put me on hold. When he came back, he said I needed to go on the website and report the incident in writing. Jay promised the report would be taken seriously. I did that and got an email from Cecil, who wrote that I need to phone in with my complaint. I wrote back to Cecil that I have already done that, as well as reported the incident to the CRTC. I got a canned response back from Cecil with details about how to register for the national Do Not Call List.

I received a phone call at 5pm offering me a wonderful deal for Bell tv. It was $29/month for 60 channels, 15 HDTV, and 8 movie channels. I needed to give my bank account information. I refused to do this, and I was transferred to an even pushier manager who tried to get my bank account information or credit card number. He asked 5 times, and I said I did not have it. He then asked if I had any prepaid cards, like a Walmart card. I thought that was really weird. I told him I would get my husband to phone him tomorrow. He asked me when I would send my account information. I told him next week, and he was surprised. I said it would take a week to mail my cheque to him. And he said I could give that information over the phone. I told him I didn't want to do that, and he said he could get the address for me to mail him the cheque to verify my information (even though I was on the Government list he had with my name and address).

Very strange call. I'm getting caller ID to prevent these things from happening again. NEVER give out your banking information over the phone.

Called Saturday after New Year's Day. First telemarketer of the year. I said hello and then they said hello and nothing more. I recognized the background chatter in the background as a call centre boiler-room and hung up.

No caller ID which I'm paying Bell a high price for to stop this BS. Bell rhymes with Go to ...

I got a call from this number this morning; no message.  It came up as an international caller number on my caller id.  Weird

The same happened to me just now on my home phone. I attempted to call them back but "all circuits were busy", until I called back from my cell phone that I set to hide my number.
I received an automated message telling me that other customers were being served and to please hold. There was some music so then I hung up.

We just ignored call from 647-724-8790 about ten minutes ago. Looked up reverse numbers, found it is landline in Ontario. Just read all these messages, and feel glad we didn't pick up call and they didn't leave message on machine. Will now block caller from annoying us again. Thanks to all for your info.

just received a call from this number.  Glad to have call display.  Thank you for all your comments, I will not answer in the future if they call again.

Can't recall how to "block" an individual number from calling my number....

I keep getting calls from this number and nobody talk when I answer the phone. When I called them back, my line was put on hold automatically.

phoned today. phoned back and message all circuts are busy

My answering machine picked up.  No message left.  Aka a "silent call".

The call display shows "INTERNAT'L CALL" which is unusual for Telemarketer calls that I receive (they typically show the name of one of 2 dozen US states).

Anyway given that scammers can SPOOF (fake out) their caller id information, I pretty much expect that their use of "INTERNAT'L CALL" in the call display is just yet another lame attempt to try & get someone to pickup.  In fact it's just another lame attempt to obscure who they are.

The 647 area code is in Ontario.

I am reporting it to the CRTC.

Same as everybody else.  Screw them.  We won't pick up.

Its a phishing scam, they want baking information. NEVER GIVE IT OUT! Instead, report the scam to http://www.publicsafety.gc.ca/prg/le/bs/phish-eng.aspx#report there are links on that site that tell you how to report it. Any information you can give them is helpful. And once again, NEVER GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION!!! If its a company you deal with, they already have the information they need, and if they call you, they can verify with you and you can say if its right or wrong. Oh yea, and one more thing. For these scams, they have this technology that changes the number they call from, so even if they are calling from next door to you, the number on your call display can be really random, I got a call from an area code that was in Pakistan!!!! But they werent actually there. Its all a scam

My friend in Black Creek B.C. got a call from this number. She immediately told him that she was not interested in telemarketers. He rudely says " Was I trying to sell you anything??" She again repeated she wasn't interested in telemarketers. He again says something like " Did I make a sales pitch at you??" She hung up and called the number back and was told " all circuits were busy". I finally stumbled upon your site and will pass along the information to her. Thanks for a valuable service.

Rec'd a call from this number @ 5:20 PM, when I picked up the voice, (Heavy Accent) mispronounced my last name which is a Dead Give Away for telemarketers or scammers. I said "yes", the line went dead and I hung up.Called the number back and rec'd a recorded message that "all circuits were busy".

Just got this call. Knew it's Telemarketing. Picked up and said he's from Bell. Offering me some kind of special. I haven't dealt with Bell for at least 10 years. Blah..Blah..Blah.. I have time.

647-724-8790 Has called my number continuously, however since I have caller ID and I do not answer the phone unless I know the number, I have never answered it. That is an Ontario number and it shows on my caller ID as local. I have already reported it to the no call list people but here they were again today. I tried to report it but the site is being revamped. For my part I have not got into any discussion with them as I don't answer

Got a call from this number today - used *69 to obtain it.  They offered a free mobile phone worth $300.  I declined - I actually had to decline twice! Then they hung up. I have reported it to the link mentioned above.  Unbelievable

Received a call tonight from 647-724-8790. As we have caller ID and didn't know the number we didn't answer but let the answering machine do it Nothing but dead air. Checked out the number on reverse look up and found all this info from you good people. Thanks for reporting that number and I guess it pays to have call display.

This  number shows up many times on my caller ID is there any agency that we can report it to  stop
