Called at 6:15pm, left no message.

I was told my personal computer had a bug & I should be aware of it, errors, warnings, etc.  They wanted me to sit in front of my computer & follow their instructions to fix the problem. He assured me he wasn't 'selling' anything
It sounded fishy so I asked them to e-mail me ( they had my phone # so they should have my e-mail )
He hung up without identifying anything

Called at 7:11 pm.  Spent about 20 minutes on the phone with them playing their game until I got tired of it.   They are "computer professionals" who can identify and clean any virus or malware from your PC.   I never did get him to get to the point about just what exactly he wanted me to do, but it was fun to have him go around in circles for awhile.   Definitely some kind of scam.

Received a phone call this evening and told me that he was calling on behalf of microsoft, maker of windows; he spoke with a foreign accent and told me that I had bad files on my computer that sent information everytime I logged on the internet or sent an email.  He asked me to delete the file from my computer by going to.....  I told him I didnt know what he was talking about and asked him to send it in a letter.  He went round and round for about 20 minutes or so then he finally hung up on me.  I did tell him that I didn't think that Microsoft called people.  He then said he was with another company, but I forgot what the name was.  Anyway, he was trying me to make changes to my computer.  

Called my mother with the same bunch of HOGWASH!  Called yesterday too.  I told her to hang up on them!  Obviously a scam!!!

Like some already said, I tried to keep this guy on the phone to waste his time and because I was curious.
The caller said he was from the TECH HELP LINE and wanted to spread awareness about an issue in my area. He said that there were too many junk files on my computer and wanted me to right click the MY COMPUTER icon and click MANAGE. I happened not to be using Microsoft Windows at the time, but he didn't ask, so when that didn't work, he told me to go to *****  "ammyy dot com" *****and then double-click something there. At that point, I told him that I did not feel comfortable doing that. He spent about 5 minutes (was very persistent) trying to convince me that it was safe, but I know better, so I refused, and he finally ended the call politely (unlike the last time when I was cursed at). I think he said clicking that link would help an advanced technician to communicate with me. He used a lot of meaningless general terms that made me think I knew more about computers than he did.
