They call and hang up. No talking, nothing but dead air.
Thay also use the # 1-650-230-1966.

This is a credit card collections calling center, they are as ignorant as they get. I think they have a computer dialing then they hang up after they have been put through. They need to find a better way, if they don't leave a message, how do they expect to get paid? I think they are just hoping to annoy people into paying when they can't.

I received a phone call on Friday, 7 January 2011, from an individual with a heavy accent asking if I was who I was and asked if the last 4 digits of my SSN were my SSN.  I said yes, and he proceeded to tell me he was a debt collector for Northland Group in regard to a Premier Bank account.  I am trying to correct things on my credit report so I listened.  He said the compnay was offering a one time settlement on the account.  I agreed that I would like to participate, but it was the three questions he asked that showed some shady business going on.  These are the three things he asked for that I did not reply:  Estimated take home pay, my marital status, and how much I paid for mortgage/rent.  I informed this individual that I had dealt with debt collectors in the past, and they never asked me any questions like that.  And I hung up the phone.  Then, the stupid person decides to call me back from this phone number:  (650) 230-1967.  He was actually begging for me to continue with trying to obtain a settlement.  I hung up again.  I do regret giving him my cell phone number.  The following day, the phone number (267) 519-4400 called and it was the stupid ass man again.  I hung up again.  They call like every other day from the (650) 230-1967 ohone number, but I am at work.  Thank goodness I did not provide my work number.  Besides, I have dealt with the real Northland Group in the past and they are very legit and professional.

I just received a phone call from 650-230-1967 today, 1/20/2011 at about 2:45pm.  The caller hung up when the voicemail picked up. After reading post from Shena72, my husband & I will not be cooperating with this caller.

I've also been getting calls from this number on a daily basis (usually just once), but today they called twice. They call while I'm at work and don't leave a message. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize. After reading the posts from 650-230-1966, I'm going to check my credit report and look into putting a block on it to restrict who can look at it. It's scary that people like this can view my credit report. I don't have any outstanding debt, so I know this isn't legit. I encourage everyone to report these calls to the appropriate authorities. It seems they can get around DO NOT Call lists by using this tactic. I would also encourage you to ignore their calls to save yourself from unnecessary aggravation. This is a SCAM!  WATCH OUT!

Northland Group is one of those bottom feeder debt collector, buying old uncollected loans , penny on a dollar and trying to make money out you. Just ignore them, block the call if your phone has such function.

They never leave a message.  Comes up on the caller ID as Mountain Vie Ca... Have know idea who they are or who they want.

they call three or four times a day but we never answer because we dont know the number. after reading these posts i will now try to block the number. thank you

This number shows up every day. This is harassment. How can we stop this?

Someone calls several times a day from this number. There is never anyone there when I answer of if I let the answering machine pick up, they hang up.

They keep calling for someone who is not at this number and has not been for 5 years that is how long we have had this #.

I do not know who is calling from this number or why but please stop

i get these calls to and they asked me the same questions. when i dont answer they call me from a singapore number. i just get to where i ignore the number

the    the reason they don't leave a message is they can keep on calling if they say who they are there limited in the amount of times they can call you in a day

They fondle my answering machine several times, every day.  I never answer the phone.  They never leave a message.

this number calls me constantly and it is usually someone who cannot speak english well. I play with them when I have time and I'm in the mood. Who? Spell that please? Are you serious? Are you calling from Korea? Who are you looking for? We don't deliver pizza's to Korea, sorry.

Just wanna say, got one here in Michigan but didn't answer.  I don't answer #'s I don't recognize.  Searched the # online and was shocked to find all of this, so I just had to make a comment.

Called and of course left no message.  Adding to my blocked list... <sigh>

credit company located in india. they use a fake local number to show up on your caller i.d. they have your social security number. GE credit and discover bank sells your credit information to other countries now. they harass you about your personal life, about your family, spouse, living situation, foodstamps, foodbanks, edd... they find every possible way to push your buttons... don't tell them anything..they'll just use it to harass you more.

you're better off not picking up.

also... your cell phone company is probably selling your phone records to these creditors in order for them to call you using fake local numbers.
