- Cindy LouGot a call at 6:54 pm on Friday Night 5/8/14 - hung up when the answering machine message started.
- Caller: ALERT
- BBCall from 650-277-2194 on 5/8/14 about 6:00 PM. Caller ID showed "URGENT". I was next to phone, so PU & hung up. Looks like the # in in/near San Mateo, CA from a cell phone associated with a company, but couldn't get a co. name. IF it was so "URGENT", they would've called back. So I consider it just another scam.

- Bezo D KlownCalled this number back with my ougoing call number blocked.
Their answering machine does not identify who they are!
They only prompt you to push 1 or 9 to remove your phone-number from their list, and not receive any more "special promotions". (whatever that may be??)
Just hang up or block this SPAM telemarketer.- Caller: ALERT
- Call type: Telemarketer
- JuniorLike the person above I hung up after the urgent word but I did hear them say the word "AARP" before I hung up.
I had wrote them before about their methods and now I think it';s time I follow thru and leave the organization. They have two magazines and should be receiving good income but I keep getting these offers in the mail.
- Caller: AARP

- Julie T from MinnesotaDEFINITELY SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM! Just got a call from this number. Say they got my number from my doctor or 'someone' and that the call is to send me a free 'device' in case something happens to me. All I need to do is press "1" to verify my shipping info. Definitely targeting older people ... said it's for if you're 64 or older which I'm not.

- AnnaI keep seeing comments asking, "How did they get my number?" If you have a credit card, your number is on a list with your age, sex, address, income, and many other facts about you that is gold to telemarketers. If you've ever filled out a survey, they have your number. And once you're on the lists, they will follow you beyond the grave. We get mail for my husband's father who died twelve years ago. If you're curious about the amount of information you can buy, call a direct mail company and ask about demographics in their lists - specifically age groups over 55. And as for the caller's location, that can be spoofed or phone companies like Verizon will give you a phone number anywhere in the country. A friend in Texas has a phone number with a Las Vegas exchange because it's better for his entertainment business. I have a Panasonic phone that has the ability to block 250 numbers and it's the best thing I ever bought. Some of the telemarketing companies hire people who would not otherwise have a job so I'm easy on them unless they get aggressive. I've told some that they are working for scammers like those who try to solicit donations for police, firemen, dog catchers, or whatever. Those are definitely scams. I'm not too sure that medical personnel aren't selling information. We were bombarded after my husband was in the hospital and his SS # was used to file a fraudulent IRS return. Now we receive a pin number that proves who we are. If the IRS would do that with everyone, there would be no fake returns.
