I received a gift voucher for a touchpad tablet

I received this come-on in the mail, offering a free 7" android tablet AND a $250 Shopping Mall Gift Card!
This appears to be a scam.  
Tip-offs:
Claim: "We have attempted contacting you several times."
Actuality: if it was by junk mail, I threw it away without opening it.
Claim: "These documents are on record as being sent to you."  
Actuality: This is the set-up so that they can call me by telephone, bypassing the government "do not call" list.
Claim: "Sponsored by DirectBuy of Silicon Valley, 1157 San Antonio Road, Mountain View, CA 94043"
Actuality: Sent from "CP PO Box 20389, West Palm Beach, FL 33416"

I received a post card "Notice to Call" suggesting that with just a phone call you can receive the New Android 4.0 Touchpad Tablet with camera and WiFi.  As usual...anything for free, out of the blue, is more likely a scam.  Further scrutiny of the post card lead me to pull out a magnifying glass to read a 1 1/4" square of fine print indicating that you must attend a 90 minute presentation to receive the gift. The sponsor is DirectBuy of Silicon Valley, which is a sort of pyramid scam.  A friend of mine, bought into DirectBuy.....only to find herself $7,000 invested in a scheme where you are buying your futrue discount on furniture purchases.  Hell, for $7,000, I could have furnished my whole house.
