Collection agency.  I answered their call this morning at 9:32am for a Capital One account.  I told them I paid it off last November with another Agency.  Again at 1:48pm they called my cell phone inquiring about the same account.  They called me on a different number and a different phone this time.  I asked them to turn on their recording and I told them they are in vioation of federal law since I had already talked to them today.  I told them if they call me again today I will file a lawsuit against them!!!  He became rude and told me the only way to stop the calls was to make a payment.

I have filed for bankruptcy and notified all creditors.  How can they still call?  Is this a scam?  The never leave a message.

When I call this number back, they answer "hello".  It is a collection agency, and one that uses backdoor tactics.  Collection agencies have their place, but these guys are scum.

Received calls for a person who had my number years ago.  Called them back and they answered wtih "hello".  Explained the situation and they say they will take my number off of their calling logs.  This is the third time I have heard the same thing, and they still call.

I received a call from this number on my cell phone , and it was a recording.  They did not introduce themselves, and I hanged up.  It is probably a debt collector for the owner this number before I had this phone number.

Zombie debt collector.  The first (and only) time I picked up for them a computer generated voice asked for me by my married name, and I've been divorced for 7 years!

This number keeps calling an old number of mine. I have an old cell phone that is only used to contact my ex. This must be some kind of collection number since they never leave a message.  I am not in collections anywhere and it is the only phone number that keeps calling my old phone.  Haven't used that number in over a year.  I know they are not looking for me. I'll just let them keep calling and wasting their time and payroll.

This number called my father's cell today and did not leave a msg.  Yesterday he received a similar call from the number 6513041758 which when googled revealed that it was a Merrill Lynch Investment Company located in downtown St. Paul.  I am currently dealing with creditors but I did not receive any calls so it looks like they are trying to get to me through my father who also resides with me.  Dirty way to conduct business.

If you have filed bankruptcy, they cannot call you. Notify your attorney immediately and they will be sent a cease and desist. If they continue to call, they can be shut down and their license pulled.

Notify the FCC and the SEC. IF they are calling a number for a relative, especially on a debt that is no longer outstanding, they are violating collection laws. I used to work in collections, and now the rules are even tighter.

Make sure you document all the calls you get. The number is a collection agency - National - I think they are in Eagan. I have dealt with them before and they are horrible.

Report them. If they continue to call you, it's harrassment. If you do a *59 on the phone when they call, I believe the phone company calls them to tell them they are now blocked, etc.

This idiot calls me from Hastings , mn about a debt that is not even mine. Tey dont understand that this is a new phone number for me, and i do not know to whom the number was assigned before.
I am not the person they ask for, nor do I know that party.  

Still, they call several times each day.  I refuse to have my number changed just to be rid of them.

This is a fraud, do not give them any info... This # called and stated that im under investigation for check fraud and i needed to pay them money ASAP or i was getting a warrent, i called the police station right away and was told its a fraud, these stupid people called and i dont even have a checking acct to write checks, dont talk to them, if someone calls with serious  accusations the first people you should be calling is the police, these scum of the earth make money off people who panick and send them money before they realize its a scam...

Calls multiple times a day. No one is there when I pick up. They do not leave a message when I ignore the call.

Got my work cellphone asking for my father but wouldn't say anything other than it is a personal matter. Gave me a 1-800 number to give him to call?

Scams Scams! Called my mom called my best friends mom saying I owe money & I will have a warrant and there from some crime place! If its a personal matter why tell a person u don't know some one elses personal business! Stupid ppl need to stop scaring ppl & trying to ruin there lives!

Thank you for your post!!!  I've been receiving these type of messages on my cell phone.  Something about bad checks and a warrant but it was difficult to make out.  Yesterday just a missed call.  I blocked it but then started to think and google and saw your post.  Exactly the same.  I notified the police department.  These jerks!  Thanks to sites like this we can expose this BS!
