I finally got fed up too after 2-3 calls for a few days in a row and googled the DAV...They called back with this number. 877-426-2838 then press 0 and they will direct you to someone who will put you on the do not call list.  Hopefully this will solve our problems.

We have a "no solicitation" service with message enabled on our phone and they continue to call. They also used to call my work line constantly. This kind of aggressive and disrespectful marketing doesn't work (however worthy the cause).

Heck,  that't going to be about as effective as a "Do not Rob"  sign on the front door of a bank.

Caller ID = DISABLED VETS.  Telephone = 6514872002.  They call here repeatedly; I finally blocked the number, but they still call after more than a year.  I originally asked them to stop calling here, but they obviously don't honor my request.  I've reported them to the Do Not Call Registry Complaint website, but they can't do anything about it because this is a "nonprofit" organization.  Well I say that since they've continued to harass me for more than a year, that the Fed should do something about it.  Where are MY rights?

BTW: I rate these jerks with caller ID = CHARITY PICKUP; Telephone = 8669592267 and caller ID = LUPUS MN PICKUP; Telephone = 6517480400.  No matter how many times I've asked these folks to stop calling, they continue to do so.  So you think that by harassing me I'm ever going to donate anything to you?  Think again.

You do have rights. If you have asked them to stop calling, contact BBB and file a complaint. It's easy to do

I think this really is MN DAV/ Last year they called me once per month. I emailed them and they removed me from their list. Exactly one year later they started calling me again, once per month. Argh ... They have a "Contact Us" page on their website http://davmn.org/contact-us/email-the-main-office/

We get called by so many groups claiming to be associated with Veterans it has become annoying.  Some are legitimate, but most actually only forward the minimum to the Veterans charities to be legal.  Don't give ANYTHING to these creeps who call.  They are Telemarketers. Non-Profits are businesses that do not pay taxes, yet pay their top people hundreds of thousands of $.  That money comes out of your donations.   If you have something to donate, there is always a drop-off by any American Legion or Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

This is a followup to my post a couple of hours ago.

I emailed MN DAV via their "Contact Us" page on their website. Within an hour I received the following reply:

Thank you for contacting the DAV MN. We apologize for violating your request to no longer receive calls from our organization. We experienced total system failure of our telephonic equipment over Memorial Day weekend. When the organization that we lease the equipment from rebuilt our system they informed us that there was no way to maintain the integrity of our “Do Not Call” list. I have once again removed the number [my number] from our contact roster. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience our attempt to contact you has caused you or your family. Please feel free to contact us anytime with questions or comments.

    Greetings,

I was recently alerted to some of the activity on this site and want to issue some responses to the issues reported. First, I can assure you that the DAV MN is not running any type of scam operations. We are a chartered and certified 501C4 Veterans Service Organization since July 1st, 1925. Our membership is comprised exclusively of men and women injured or wounded while providing military service to our Nation. The Department of MN (along with all DAV Departments and Chapters) is restricted by the DAV National Constitution and Bylaws from requesting monetary donations except for direct personal contact. The DAV MN therefore generates a majority of the revenue necessary to provide services to our 377,000 Minnesota Veterans and their families via our thrift and vehicle donation program. The DAV MN program is not affiliated in any way with DAV National Headquarters. In our efforts to encourage residents in the Mpls/St Paul Metro area to support our mission, we do utilize a "robo-dialer" system in conjunction with a direct mail campaign that notifies any potential donors that our trucks (we have seven leased trucks) will be in the area and to give us a call at 651-487-2002 if they would like our driver to stop by and pick up any donations. Our system is set up to alternate our direct mail and calling efforts, so no household should be receiving calls from our system more frequently than every 3 or 4 weeks at a minimum. The system is also designed to call back in the case of "no answer" at a later time in the day in case any potential donor is out or at work, which is generally the reason for the "multiple calls".

In regards to those that have been placed on our "do not call" list and have started to receive calls again: I apologize for this... we experienced total system failure of our telephonic contact system over the Memorial Day holiday weekend in 2014. During the reboot of the system, our provider informed us that there was no way to maintain the integrity of our "do not call" list due to some sort of complication with the Microsoft database platform. If you were once removed from the roster, you likely resumed receiving calls from our system in June or July 2014. If that is the case, and you have not done so, please call 651 487-2002 or the HQ at the Minnesota State Veterans Service Building by the Capital at 651-291-1212 and we would be happy to remove your contact number. Again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience anyone may have experienced by our inability to maintain our "do not call" roster. It is not our intent to inconvenience you or your family in our attempts to contact you.

Unlike many non-profits engaged in a residential donation pick-up service, the DAV MN directly employs all of its thrift program staff. I personally manage the staff either directly or indirectly. If at anytime a DAV MN employee acts in an unprofessional manner that is inconsistent with the DAV MN mission, please notify the Dept HQ and we will take immediate corrective action. It is our intent to provide excellent services to both our generous donors and the Minnesota Veterans we support with integrity and transparency. We do occasionally drop the ball, but we put forth our best efforts to resolve any mishaps in a timely and professional manner.

A final note: The DAV MN offers our sincere gratitude to all Minnesota residents, and those abroad, who have contributed to our cause by donating clothing or household items, vehicles and/or monetary contributions. Without your generosity and dedication, we would not be able to continue to offer the quality programs and services that our Minnesota Veterans, their families and survivors deserve. We hope that you continue to proudly support the DAV MN mission in the future.

Please feel free to contact our office with any questions, comments or concerns. Highest regards- Josh

We got a hang-up call from 651-487-2002 at SEVEN FIFTEEN AM.  That is an obnoxious time to be calling a private residence.

Do not have that much stuff
I do not like to give a negative response on a charity but,  they call constantly.  I can understand some of the reasons for multiple calls.  If I gave everytime I received a call I would not have anything left in my house.  Maybe after someone gives something wait a year before calling them again????  It is not only this organisation that does the repeated calls. Like I suggested wait some time before calling again after someone gives.  I just finally quit answering the calls.
